  10. 'Proud local man'published at 02:34 British Summer Time 6 May 2016

Wales' first AM to be re-elected, Carl Sargeant, says: "As a local man rooted in my community I've been proud to represent the people of Alyn and Deeside since 2003.

"As a party we've fought a good campaign and we've listened to what people are telling us on the doorsteps. We reflect their priorities which are boosting jobs and growth, taking care of the health service, and standing up for our steelworkers.

"I'd like to thank the people of Alyn and Deeside for putting their trust in me and in Welsh Labour. You can be sure I will continue to work hard for the people of Alyn and Deeside."

  14. Turnout troubles?published at 02:12 British Summer Time 6 May 2016

    Ed Poole
Lecturer, Wales Governance Centre at Cardiff University

One of the biggest concerns in this campaign has been the issue of public disengagement - a long running sore in the story of post-devolution Wales.

Turnout at assembly elections has failed to surpass the 46% recorded in 1999 and in 2011 was 41.4%, itself a decline from 2007.

So far it seems that turnout may be higher at this election, with increases (from 2011) reported in Wrexham (40% in 2016, up from 36.2% in 2011), the Vale of Clwyd (43.1%, up from 41%), Bridgend (44%, up from 40.8%)and Ogmore (43%, up from 36.4%).

There's still room for this story to develop over the course of the evening - turnout is down in Alyn and Deeside from 37% to 34.8%.

  18. 'Not confident'published at 01:58 British Summer Time 6 May 2016

Veteran Labour politician Julie Morgan has admitted she is not feeling confident of retaining her Welsh Assembly election seat.

The 71-year-old former social worker won the Cardiff North constituency from the Conservatives in the 2011 poll in a close-run contest and said she expects it to go to the wire again this time around.

Mrs Morgan said: "I'm not confident. I'm prepared for whatever the result will be. The Cardiff North constituency has changed hands a few times between Labour and the Conservatives in both assembly and parliamentary elections."
