Tory hopeful in Wrexham Andrew Atkinson says he walked 15km today (nine miles) not as much as Sam Rowlands in the Vale of Clwyd though (16 miles)

We'll need a few more candidates before we can compile a league table - but I think we're going to need some Fitbit screenshots as proof!

  5. 'Fed up of Labour'published at 00:16 British Summer Time 6 May 2016

Plaid Cymru candidate Mair Rowlands says the shock vote for a Conservative MP (ousting Labour's Chris Ruane last year) has changed the political landscape in the Vale of Clwyd this year.

"People are fed up of Labour and have had 17 years of Labour here. This constituency will be very close between the main parties and I have been pleasantly surprised by how many people see Plaid as an alternative to Labour and I think we will get a lot of second votes in the regional ballot."

In 2003, 14 AMs were elected who weren't in the previous Assembly, in 2007 it was 13 and in 2011 it was 23.

This time we'll have at least 13 new AMs due to retirements - three Plaid AMs stood down at this election and 10 from Labour.

    Ed Poole
Lecturer, Wales Governance Centre at Cardiff University

Although Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney is the fifth least marginal constituency in Wales, it will be a key indicator of whether UKIP has been able to convert its poll ratings into actual votes

In the 2015 general election, the party secured 18.7% of the vote in this seat - its fourth best result in Wales.

This result will provide an early indicator of whether Labour's vote is down.
