Labour's Barry Gardiner tells Westminster Hour he agrees with Manchester Metro Mayor Andy Burnham's assessment that the anti-radicalisation Prevent strategy should be reviewed.

Mr Gardiner said the strategy could make some British Muslims "feel that they are under attack".

The Prevent strategy is key to the government's fight against radicalisation among young British Muslims.

Former culture secretary John Whittingdale says attention should be focused on the "Muslim community...as that is where the problem lies".

The Conservatives have seized on Nicola Sturgeon's line that the SNP would seek a "progressive alliance" at Westminster if there is a hung Parliament on 9 June.

"This would mean Jeremy Corbyn propped up by a weak and unstable coalition just days before the Brexit negotiations start – putting at risk the deal we need to get," says Conservative Party chairman Patrick McLoughlin.

Mr Corbyn, however, has ruled out coalitions with other parties.

  16. SNP would support 'progressive policies'published at 18:29 British Summer Time 28 May 2017

Asked whether her party would back Labour in key Budget votes if there was a hung Parliament, Ms Sturgeon says: "We will work for progressive policies and we will work for the policies we put forward in our manifesto."

If there was a hung Parliament, she says "of course we would look to be part of a progressive alliance that pursued progressive policies" but predicts this would not be the outcome despite polls showing a narrowing of the Tories' lead.

"Voting Labour in Scotland risks letting the Tories in," she says.
