    "If I wanted to be in the UK Parliament I would've stood in this election," says Ruth Davidson, the Conservatives' leader in Scotland, when she is asked if she would like to be Tory leader.

    She says she does "not think the Labour Party can rely on the SNP" to prop them up to form a government.

    She says Theresa May was right to tell Nicola Sturgeon "not now" on Scottish independence.

    Mr Brennan's campaign was launched by former first minister Rhodri Morgan who passed away during the campaign.

    On Alex Salmond losing Gordon, we've known from local election results that the SNP vote is pivoting away from the north east towards the central region.

    Despite a relatively high SNP vote there, the north east didn't vote for independence and narrowly voted against Brexit.
