    Sir Michael Fallon insists "our view of Brexit has not changed" saying he was "not party" to Chancellor Philip Hammond's discussions with Theresa May, in which he is reported to have said he wanted a softer Brexit.

    The defence secretary also insists that the Conservatives have a majority in the Commons for their vision of Brexit.

    He says Labour also wants to "have a successful Brexit" and has ruled out a second referendum.

    The MEP from the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe told Andrew Marr: "We don't want the UK to be in a worse position."

    But she added: "We agree with Mrs May on one thing - Brexit is Brexit. You cannot have your cake and it.
