Conservative candidate Nick Fletcher has been elected as MP for Don Valley.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn offers "very heartfelt thanks" to his constituents of whom he says it is his "pride and pleasure" to represent as he was re-elected in Islington.
He says the the pressure "on those surrounding politicians is often very, very high indeed and the media intrusion in people's lives is very high indeed".
He thanks his family and close friends and his wife "for all she puts up with because of the way the media behaves".
Turning to the election result he says: "Obviously it is a very disappointing night for the party.
"But I want to say this - in the election campaign we put forward a manifesto of hope.
"However, Brexit has so polarised debate it has overridden so much of normal political debate."
Rosie Winterton has been re-elected as Labour MP for Doncaster Central.
Conservative candidate Greg Knight has been re-elected as MP for Yorkshire East.
Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis says he's not thinking much further ahead than his next cup of tea, brushing off comments suggesting he may be the next Labour leader.
His comment came as some were calling for Jeremy Corbyn to resign after exit polls poll put Labour on 191 seats, which would be its worst result since 1935.
Mr Jarvis, said: "I'm pretty busy at the moment because as well as being the MP I'm also the city region mayor and that's a massive commitment"
"I take very seriously the commitment I've made to the people of South Yorkshire to serve as their mayor.
"What I'm going to do is go and look at my phone and see what is happening around the country and maybe even get home and maybe even see my family and maybe even have a cup of tea.
"And that's my priority. I'm not thinking much further than my next cup of tea."
Labour's Diana Johnson has retained her Hull North seat.
Conservative candidate Holly Mumby-Croft has won Scunthorpe, taking the seat from Labour by 6,451 votes.
Labour's Hilary Benn has been re-elected as MP for Leeds Central.

Labour candidate Karl Turner has been re-elected as MP for Hull East by 1,239 votes.
His majority in 2017 was 10,396.
Former Labour party leader Ed Miliband has been re-elected as MP for Doncaster North with a majority of 2,370 votes.
Labour's Gill Furniss has been re-elected as MP for Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough.
Andrew Jones has been re-elected as the MP for Harrogate & Knaresborough, with a decreased majority.
The Conservative candidate beat Liberal Democrat Judith Rogerson by 9,675 votes, 8,493 votes less than the majority at the 2017 election.
Mark Sewards of the Labour Party came third and the Yorkshire Party's Kieron George came fourth.
Voter turnout was down by 0.3 percentage points since the last general election.
Nearly 57,000 people, roughly three-quarters of those eligible to vote, went to polling stations across the area on Thursday, in the first December general election since 1923.
One of the four candidates, Kieron George (The Yorkshire Party) lost his £500 deposit after failing to win 5% of the vote.

Conservative MP Graham Stuart has increased his grip on the Beverely and Holderness seat.
Mr Stuart received 33,250 with his nearest challenger, Labour's Chloe Hopkins, receiving 12,802.
That result has extended his majority from 14,042 in 2017 to 20,448.
The Conservative's David Davis has been re-elected as MP for Haltemprice and Howden with a majority of 20,329.
Labour's Dan Jarvis has said it looks set to be a "dismal night" for Labour despite being re-elected as MP for Barnsley Central.
Mr Jarvis won his seat with 14,804 votes, with Brexit Party's Victoria Felton coming second with 11,233 votes.
He said: "Over for the past few weeks, I've had countless conversations with too many people who've expressed concerns and in some cases anger in a Labour Party that they think no longer speaks for them
"We have to listen to those concerns and work to regain the trust where it's been lost."
He went on to criticise national government for neglecting towns in the north of England saying "ending northern neglect" would be his priority.
"The massive potential of Barnsley and Yorkshire should be shouted from the rooftops", he said.
