    Analysis

    BBC Wales politics reporter

With over half the Welsh results declared, the Conservatives have scored six gains from Labour.

Bridgend, Delyn, Clwyd South, Ynys Mon, Wrexham and Vale of Clwyd have all gone to the Tories.

Labour activists might breathe a sigh of relief that Labour's Tonia Antoniazzi increased her majority in Gower.

But the picture overall will fuel frustration among those in Welsh Labour who have never been on board with the Jeremy Corbyn project, and lead to soul-searching as to what the party should do next.

The Conservatives have been working at many of these seats for years – these were constituencies the party was talking about but failed to win in 2017.
