Alun Davies AM has told BBC Wales that the Labour Party is in a terrible position and that Jeremy Corbyn must take the blame for that.
"Jeremy Corbyn was the biggest problem on the doorstep," he said.
"Jeremy Corbyn has lost this election for Labour and he has to accept that and take responsibility..."
He added: "Momentum have brought Labour to its knees...
"They have been preaching to people like me that I'm some kind of Tory, and people have told me they want my sort of politics but they don't want Momentum's politics.
"It's high time for Momentum to walk away from the Labour Party."
Fomer Welsh Tory MP Glyn Davies has praised his party after its first three female Welsh Conservative MPs were elected.
He said: “It’s also very important for the Conservative party in Wales that we’ve elected three women MPs – previously we haven’t had one at all.
"That’s a great message for the party which challenges some of the stereotype views of the party in Wales.
“Boris Johnson has done an amazing job and much of tonight is down to Boris Johnson.
“He’s got a huge challenge in bringing the country back together and he has the task of restoring trust in British politics and I think he can do that."
Craig Williams has been elected MP for Montgomeryshire, meaning that the Conservative Party holds the seat with an increased majority.
The new MP beat Liberal Democrat Kishan Devani by 12,138 votes. This was more than Glyn Davies’s 9,285 vote majority in the 2017 general election.
Kait Duerden of the Labour Party came third and Gwlad Gwlad Gwyn Wigley Evans came fourth.
Voter turnout was up by 1.1 percentage points since the last general election.
More than 34,000 people, 69.8% of those eligible to vote, went to polling stations across the area on Thursday, in the first December general election since 1923.
