Late Show host Stephen Colbert earlier crashed the Republican National Convention stage, appearing as Hunger Games character Caasar Flickerman.

The comedian poked fun at Mr Trump before he was dragged away, but it's unclear whether it was real or staged.

“It is my honour to hereby launch and begin the 2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games,” he said as he banged a gavel, making reference to the popular book and movie series.

“Look, look, I know I’m not supposed to be up here, but let’s be honest - neither is Donald Trump,” Colbert quipped as he was pulled away from the microphone.

The Late Show host has previously dressed as The Hunger Games host for similar sketches, external on his television show.

People are not allowed to take guns into Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena or within a secure zone outside. But some people were photographed openly wearing guns nearby.

Given the recent tensions, Cleveland's police union asked Ohio Governor John Kasich to declare a state of emergency to temporarily put a ban on open-carry in the city during the convention, but Kasich has said he does not have the power to do so on his own.

So no tennis balls are allowed near the convention centre, but weapons like this one are. But not inside the convention centre - US Secret Service won't have it.
