    Most people agree the job of the BBC is to speak truth to power. It is a public broacaster, independent of government, not a state broadcaster. Not like in Russia. All of this is under threat right now. This is scary stuff folks. It's not their BBC - it's your BBC. In many ways our broadcasting is the envy of the world and we should stand up and fight for it. If we don't we shall blink and it's gone.

    She said the "British TV industry is envy of the world - we must never take it for granted.
