The last champagne glasses are being emptied, the crowds are thinning out. The party is over here at London’s O2, but for many of the stars, it’s onwards to afterparties dotted around the city.

Raye has the most to celebrate, but this has been a night to remember for many of the top names in music - here in the UK and around the world.

Murder mystery reality TV show The Traitors has been a cultural and ratings success. While former soldier Harry Clark won the competition, it was the mother-son duo of Diane 'Queen of the Traitors' and Ross Carson who stole the nation's hearts. They've also snatched the spotlight at the Brits.

For viewers at home, it was a thrill to see The Traitors' breakout stars pop up next to hosts Clara Amfo and Maya Jama dressed in dark Traitors cloaks... Each of them had a chalkboard where they voted for the big winner of the night, Raye. The only one who differed was Roman Kemp who jokingly wrote down ' Reggie 'n' Bollie - a Ghanaian music duo best known for finishing as runners-up on The X Factor UK in 2015.

While speaking to our music correspondent Mark Savage on the red carpet earlier, Ross reflected on Diane's popularity saying: “She’s everyone’s mum now.”

This was one of the moments of the night earlier when a tearful Raye thanked her grandma as she collected her Album of the Year award. Watch it back below:

Raye, Dua Lipa, Kylie, Miley Cyrus… the list goes on. This was without a doubt a great year for women artists at the Brits - and a far cry from last year's awards, which were criticised for their all-male Best Artist line-up.

Even going into the ceremony, things were looking more balanced - with more than half of this year’s nominations featuring women. The Brits organisers will be breathing a sigh of relief to have avoided the controversy of last year.

A host of celebrities have already taken to social media to congratulate Raye on her record-breaking night.

Model Naomi Campbell said in a post on X: "Congratulations Raye. SO HAPPY FOR YOU."

Broadcaster Carol Vorderman posted: "My night with the extraordinary ⁦@raye, external⁩ at the "British Vogue 25 Women redefining Britain" dinner last year. She's grafted...singing pubs...taking on the bosses... HUGE CONGRATULATIONS ON ALL YOUR ⁦@BRITs, external⁩ Raye. What a star."

Comedian and presenter Judi Love added to the comments. "Congratulations to the amazing @raye, external you truly deserved this. #Brits, external#Raye, external#Winner, external."

Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham said: "Congratulations you fabulous voice of dreeeeeeams! SO deserved. Killa voice…KILLAAAAAAAAA!!! @raye, external"

Meanwhile, Jason Perry, the mayor of Raye's hometown of Croydon, said: "Congratulations to singer songwriter @Raye, external who has just made history by becoming the artist with the most Brit awards in a single year (6 and counting!) Another Croydon music legend."

Kylie is hitting the stage with a performance combining hits from across her decades-long career.

In the iconic red latex outfit from the Padam Padam music video, she rises above the stage on top of a terrifyingly high - and scarily small - podium.

Outfit changes? Obviously. She changes into a black and white dress to take us into Can't Get You Out of My Head and whips out another corset-style white dress for Love At First Sight.

As she takes to the stage, Kylie’s Global Icon award is waiting for her - with a glass of champagne - in the winner’s room.

All eyes on Kylie now! Her performance is one of the most eagerly awaited of the night.

As she accepts the Global Icon award, she addresses to her team, saying: "For some of you, it's been a lifetime - 36 years and counting of experiences together and the thing that really gets me is a love of music and connection with people."

"There's a part of that's still the 14-year-old girl in her room dreaming about making music," the 55-year-old adds.

She then runs up the stage and slips behind the curtain. I spotted her band already set up, so it won’t be long until we see her perform.

International pop star Kylie Minogue was announced as this year's Global Icon recipient earlier this year.

As we've been saying all night, she is preparing to takes the stage to close the awards - we're as excited as you are.

Raye's six awards in a huge achievement for artist whose career was held back for yearspublished at 22:44 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

It's the most won by any artist ever in a single Brits ceremony. In one night, she has equalled the career total of David Bowie, Michael Jackson and Oasis.

It’s a huge achievement, and a massively emotional moment for an artist whose career was held back for years, by a record label that tried to turn her (unwillingly) into a dance artist, even while she wrote genre-spanning hits for other people.

Going independent was a risk. But it’s one that paid off. She is winner of Artist, Album, Single and Songwriter of the Year; with further awards for Best R&B and (in slightly anomalous move) Best Newcomer. In the end, the only person who could defeat her was Dua Lipa - who scooped her in the Best Pop category - and Raye herself, as she had a second nomination for Single of the Year.

The tears on stage are real. After years of frustrated dreams, she has finally achieved them.

Raye is crying. As with most of the night, she keeps shaking her head repeatedly - almost in disbelief that she has won - and is now heading up to the stage to a standing ovation, accompanied by her grandma.

"You just don't understand what this means to me" she says tearfully. Then she puts her arm around her grandma.

"My middle name is Agatha and this is Agatha Dawson,"

"I'm so proud of this album. I'm in love with music. All I ever wanted to be is an artist and now I'm an artist with an album of the year!"

Another artist whose song was nominated in the same category as Miley Cyrus has just been up performing. Rema sang his catchy hit Calm Down in a fluffy hunter hat and bomber jacket.

Miley Cyrus could not make the ceremony tonight but said in a video message that she thanked everyone for the award and for giving her somewhere to "wear this dress" - she is referring to a backless sheer mini dress.

"The real award is having this song loved all around the world," she says.

"I know this video is a little short but I just wanted it to match my dress," she adds cheekily.

A stunned Raye is up on stage (again!). She says there are so many "ridiculously incredible" artists here tonight.
