Fashion insider Jo Elvin, editor of You magazine, has been talking to BBC News about that dress.

She believes "a surprise is on the way in some form".

Yesterday designer Caroline Castigliano told Page Six, external that she believed Stella McCartney would be the designer of Meghan's wedding dress.

"Stella is such a perfect fit for Meghan, she uses organic fabrics and her ethos is the same as Meghan. Her style is very underplayed, her dresses are very clean in style, very much Meghan - and they are friends," Castigliano is quoted as saying.

Others in the running include British designers Ralph & Russo, while Burberry's Christopher Bailey "is very much on the watch list", accordign to Elvin, ahead of his departure from the British label at the end of the year.

The fact that Meghan wore a Roland Mouret dress as she arrived at Cliveden House Hotel with her mother last night appears to have ruled Mouret out of the running, according to some fashion pundits.

But others think it might be a hint.

The guessing game continues (for at least another few hours...)
