    Children at a special party held in the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral have been writing their own messages for the happy couple on a giant wedding cake made from card.

    Helen Smither from the cathedral's education department created the cake with gold-sprayed paper doilies and tissue paper peonies.

    Wasps and England rugby player James Haskell seems to be enjoying the day, telling the BBC he "could feel the electricity in the air" during the service.

    But Haskell, seen here with fiancee Chloe Madeley, has been criticised for attending the royal wedding instead of supporting his team-mates in their Premiership semi-final match against Saracens.

    Former England international Lawrence Dallaglio said on BT Sport: “He should be here [at the match] with his teammates. I’m sure Harry wouldn’t mind, he loves his rugby anyway.”

    Another former England man, Austin Healy added: “Injury or not, he should be here. I can’t understand that.”

    She told Clare Balding on 5 live "it was so exciting, it's such a huge honour".

    Elin said the highlight for her was the little bridesmaids "all eyes agog walking up the aisle behind [Meghan], it just was a joy".

    "It's been a lovely, relaxed proper family and friends wedding" she said.
