Football pundit and Twitter maestro Gary Lineker posted ahead of the wedding with a touching message about walking down the aisle and "a marriage made in heaven".
Only to reveal he was talking about the "romance" of this evening's match between Chelsea and Manchester United.
There have been plenty of Twitter memes that Harry and William are rushing through the speeches so they can get away to watch the match - including from the FA Cup itself...
Prince William has been the president of the Football Association since 2006 and usually presents the medals and trophy.
Ray Wilkins' widow Jackie will present the trophy to the winners at Wembley.

Celebrating in style on the Long Walkpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 19 May 2018

BBC NewsOn the Long Walk cheers and applause drowned out the ceremony when it was pronounced that the royal couple were now man and wife.
The thousands waiting outside the chapel then did not have too long to wait for the open-top carriage with the newlyweds to come past.
Among them was Amanda Robinson, a 27-year-old teacher from Melbourne, Australia.
On Friday she had helped the children at her Chelsea primary school celebrate with a picnic. But today was about being here.
“I wanted to come for the atmosphere rather than watch it at home,” she said.
And she was full of admiration for Meghan’s dress.
“I like the satin. It’s different enough from Catherine’s dress too.”
As for Amanda’s friends and family back home in Australia she said they would be celebrating in style too with bunting and fish and chips - but it wasn’t the same as being in Windsor.
Who wore what?published at 17:34 British Summer Time 19 May 2018
17:34 BST 19 May 2018Pastels, florals, as well as yellows and greens were key looks at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The bride kept it simple and sophisticated in her chic Givenchy gown - and the guests seemed to have had the memo too, with the majority getting their wedding looks spot on.
Out of 600 guests arriving for the ceremony in St George's Chapel, there were remarkably few who caused sharp intakes of breath.
We asked two fashion experts to cast their critical eye over the guests' choices.

End of twitter postPrincess Charlotte almost steals the showpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 19 May 2018
17:27 BST 19 May 2018Viewers' hearts have been captured by three-year-old Princess Charlotte.
Unlike some of the other pageboys and bridesmaids, who were a little overwhelmed by the grand occasion, Charlotte appeared in her element as she stopped to wave to crowds.
And she was even captured cheekily sticking her tongue out as she arrived.
Harry's beard specially sanctioned by Queenpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 19 May 2018
17:18 BST 19 May 2018Prince Harry had to get special permission to sport facial hair from his grandmother.
Normally, Army personnel are clean-shaven if they are wearing their formal dress uniform, such as the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals worn by both Harry and William today.
In a quirk of the rules, Pioneer Sergeants are the only rank allowed to have a beard, although members of the Special Forces can when behind enemy lines.
It is thought that the Queen was able to relax the rules as Harry is no longer a serving officer.

The dress, the couple and *that* sermonpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 19 May 2018

in WindsorWe managed to catch up with some of the 1,200 invited members of the public inside the castle grounds, before they headed off.
The excitement came down a notch once the newlyweds had left the area, but the sound of energetic chatter could still be heard over the changing guards.
Who wore what and that glamorous line of celebrity guests were the main topics of interest.
Sixteen-year-old Jack Al Alawi, from Birmingham, was not able to see the Duchess of Sussex’s dress in its entirety, as she drove by past the guests very quickly, but he said: “From what we saw it was beautiful.”
Mr Al Alawi received his invitation to the royal wedding after being nominated by his college and the volunteer police cadets programme for services to communities.
He does a lot of charity work with the cadets, he says.
He “loved” his “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to be part of a royal wedding.
On the sermon, he said: “It wasn’t what I was expecting. It was definitely different - but I did love it, it was great.”
What was his most memorable moment?
“All of it! It was all just amazing – every single bit.”
For London-based Pamela Anomneze, in her early fifties, it was all about the opportunity to see her favourite royal.
“I caught a glimpse of the Queen! Her Royal Highness, the Queen. That was so good, such a wonderful feeling.”
The moment when the Harry and Meghan exchanged their vows is also one that will stay with her for a while.
“It was true love,” she said, “As a couple, they are so gorgeous. They are a perfect match, and you can tell they are in love.”
She said the sermon was “elating - it taught people about true love for every human being”.
Leonora Ncomanzi, 13, said her “opportunity of a lifetime” was made even more memorable by the wave she received from the bride herself.
“Meghan waved at me! When she was in the carriage, she saw me and waved - we’ve got it on video,” she said.
Miss Ncomanzi attended the wedding with her school’s deputy principal, and is one of the students that take part in project work at Full Effect, a community group supported by the Royal Foundation.
She summed up the atmosphere at the castle as “really happy and exciting.”
Now that the duke and duchess have got the wedding out of the way, Miss Ncomanzi hopes they will visit her school some time.
A charitable occasionpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 19 May 2018
17:06 BST 19 May 2018The newlyweds have bought their long-running charity work to their wedding day by eschewing gifts and instead asking for donations.
They are asking members of the public to consider giving to a specially-chosen list of seven charities - representatives of which were all invited to the wedding.

16:59 BST 19 May 2018Members of Thames Police have thanked the public for all their co-operation after "an enjoyable and successful day" in Windsor.
Police effectively formed a ring of steel around Windsor Castle in the high-security operation, which police marksmen and airport-style scanners.
"Thank you very much to everybody for making this such a fantastic day," said Chief Constable Francis Habgood.
