Leading a group of 50 motorcyclists on the parade later will be the Rev Sergiy Diduk, associate vicar at All Saints Church, Hanworth, west London.

"I don't look like a priest," Sergiy, 48, admits. "When I put on my dog collar and ride my bike, people go, "What’s that?'"

But he's delighted the biker scene is being represented at the pageant along with other popular culture movements from the past 70 years.

"It's an amazing subculture - bikers might look rough and ready but everyone is so friendly," he says.

Ukrainian-born Sergiy also sees taking part as a way of expressing his gratitude for the support people in the UK have shown his homeland.

"Being part of this, I can say 'thank you'," he says.

The Mall is filling up with people. At the barrier, Chloe Godin, 32, and Jane Scinta, 20, find themselves sitting next to each other and strike up a conversion, introducing themselves.

"I’m hugely patriotic, a royalist," says Chloe, 32, from Bedfordshire. She met the late Prince Phillip when he presented her with her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award and his absence today feels poignant to her.

Jane Scinta, from New York, 20, is just about to leave the UK after studying for a year at the London School of Economics.

"I'm never going to see this again in my lifetime," Jane says.

"Also, I'm leaving pretty soon so this feels like my last big London experience."

Prince Charles and Camilla have arrived at the Oval for a Big Jubilee Lunch and are being shown the cloth artwork made out of felt we mentioned earlier.

Camilla could be heard telling guests: "I love Sweet Caroline... There's been a lot of Sweet Caroline. I’ve had it coming out of my ears."

Sir Rod Stewart sang the Neil Diamond hit at the Buckingham Palace open-air concert on Saturday night.

BBC producer Daniel Wittenberg says Prince Charles appears in good spirits at the Oval, laughing and joking about feeling underdressed and asking guests if they enjoyed the concert.

Among those preparing for Platinum Jubilee celebrations today is Mike Kennedy in Draycott, Somerset, where there will be a village pageant followed by a street party. He sent us this photo of the rehearsal yesterday - complete with carriage and corgis.

"The pageant procession idea was floated (excuse the pun) a few weeks ago during one of our weekly Friday evenings at the pub," he says.

"A few rehearsals, costume making sessions and hours of prop making culminate today.

"My wife, Valerie, is playing the Queen in the carriage."

The pageant will also feature a children's fancy dress competition and people attending the street party will be treated to strawberries and cream.

The carnival route from White Hall to Buckingham Palace will see the Mounted Band of the Household Cavalry lead the Gold State Coach used by the Queen at her coronation.

Stars of music, film and sport will travel in open top buses representing the different decades of the Queen’s reign. The eclectic mix includes Sir Cliff Richard, Gary Lineker and Basil Brush.

The Big Jubilee Lunch will celebrate community. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will attend at party at the Oval cricket ground.

At last night's Platinum Jubilee Concert, Prince Charles spoke personally about his mother. The Queen watched the show from Windsor Castle where she has been resting since suffering discomfort on Thursday after Trooping the Colour.

If she is well enough today, she may make one final appearance on the Palace balcony to round off the weekend of celebrations.

There are steel drums playing and tables being laid for a street party at the Oval cricket ground in south London. Prince Charles and Camilla will be here later for the Big Jubilee Lunch.

After all the pageantry and big events of the last few days, this will be a more informal celebration of community groups who work to bring people together.

A centrepiece is a cloth artwork of a street party that's made out of felt. It's 6m (19ft) long. Hopefully the rain doesn’t start pouring and leave it 6in long.

  10. Will we see the Queen today?published at 10:36 British Summer Time 5 June 2022

It's been a whirlwind of activities over the last few days. There have been many highlights, including on Thursday the Trooping the Colour military parade which was followed by the Royal Family's balcony appearance and flypast.

This was followed by a beacon-lighting ceremony in the evening which took place across the UK and Commonwealth, led by the Queen in a special ceremony at Windsor Castle.

On Friday, the main event was the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, although the Queen was unable to attend after experiencing discomfort during Thursday's events.

Saturday's highlight was the open-air concert at Buckingham Palace, featuring the likes of Diana Ross, Sir Elton John and Sir Rod Stewart. During the day, members of the Royal Family spent the day at events across the UK, including Princess Ann who represented her mother at the Epsom Derby.

So the big question today is whether the reigning monarch will make an appearance on the last day of the festivities marking her 70-year reign.

    BBC Weather

Let’s have a look at the weather forecast ahead of today’s pageant.

It has been a damp start in the capital and it is expected to get drier as the morning goes on.

Some sunshine will develop in the afternoon, but some heavy showers are likely to develop in places too.

Across the rest of the UK Northern Ireland and Scotland will be mostly sunny and dry, but southern Scotland will turn cloudy in the afternoon.

It will be cloudier in England and Wales with spells of heavy rain and showers.

  12. The history of the Gold State Coachpublished at 10:18 British Summer Time 5 June 2022

Gold State CoachImage source, PA Media

The Gold State Coach will be the ceremonial centrepiece of the Jubilee pageant - but this Sunday the Queen won’t be riding in it.

It weighs nearly four tonnes, features ornate carvings and has been used at every coronation since that of George IV.

The Queen rode in the gold State Coach to her coronation in 1953, and her Silver and Golden Jubilee processions.

The coach was commissioned in 1760 and first used in 1762, when George III travelled to Westminster to open Parliament.

It's notoriously uncomfortable - the Queen has described her journey to her coronation in the gold State Coach as "horrible" and has said it's "not very comfortable".

On Sunday it will be drawn by eight Windsor Grey horses and newsreel footage of the Queen's coronation will be projected on to its windows.

The coach has not been seen on the streets of London for over 20 years and is on public display at the Royal Mews when not in use.

Today, the final celebrations will be marked by a 3km-long colourful street pageant with thousands of performers heading through central London.

Ten thousand people will take part and capture key moments from the Queen's time on the throne marking her 70 years.

We can expect 6,000 performers, 1,800 troops, 200 horses and hundreds of volunteers too.
