    That was the question from Christian Brideson to Southern's Chief Executive Charles Horton and Mick Lynch from the RMT Union.

    Mr Brideson says he used to commute to London but is now too ill to do so. And he believes the strike has contributed to his illness.

    Commuters on Southern trains are for the first time being offered buses to help them catch trains run by other rail companies during today's industrial action by Aslef.

    Passengers in Eastbourne and Bexhill will be offered buses to Hastings to join a Southeastern service.

    And those in Uckfield and Crowborough will be taken by bus to join Southeastern services in Tunbridge Wells. Southern are warning the service is for essential travel only and is likely to be very congested.
