    Maintenance work on Leeds Bridge is set to begin today.

    The work to strengthen, clean, and repaint the Grade II listed structure is expected to take 16 months to complete.

    Later this month, the bridge will close northbound and traffic will be diverted.

    It normally carries traffic on Bridge End over the River Aire by The Calls.

  2. Traffic and travel: Most rail services running on timepublished at 06:38 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2018

    Trains across Yorkshire are mostly running on time this morning, with one or two small delays in York and Doncaster.

    However, keep any eye out because there are planned strikes today, external.

    The RMT Union is disputing proposed changes to the role of the conductor. This will also affect trains on Wednesday and Friday.
