    A Sheffield Wednesday fan, who wanted a refund on his Hillsborough season ticket, says there's a catch.

    Before Christmas, Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri promised supporters a refund if they were unhappy with the club's performance this season.

    MPs from across the political spectrum fear Yorkshire is missing out on investment because there is no agreement on devolution.

    Elections for a mayor for South Yorkshire are due to take place in May, but Doncaster and Barnsley say they now want to join the so called 'One Yorkshire' deal.

    The comments came as the issue was debated yesterday at Westminster.

    Barnsley parish councillor, Kevin Osborne says he's having to wage a personal war against fly-tipping because the local authority isn't doing enough.

    There's only been one successful prosecution of a fly-tipper by Barnsley council in the last year.

    Kevin's taken to Twitter using the light-hearted epithet of tossers - about those who toss away their rubbish in places they shouldn't.

    A teenager who went missing from Batley has been found.

    Thirteen-year-old Candice Manners hadn't been seen since last week, but West Yorkshire Police say she's now been found safe and well.

    A Sheffield city centre bar is to remain closed for a further seven days after a court hearing was adjourned.

    Crystal Bar on Carver Street was issued with a closure notice on New Years Day after five people were injured in a stabbing incident. More discussions will now take place between police and the bar over public safety.

    The matter will be heard again at Sheffield Magistrates' Court next Tuesday.

    Rail passengers in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire could face more disruption today as train staff take part in another day of strike action.

    Members of the RMT union also walked out on Monday in the long-running row over the role of guards.

    Some Northern trains are being cancelled or replaced by buses, external.

    The City of York and surrounding areas are no strangers to the problems of flooding.

    There will be plenty of us who remember images like this:

    It was a difficult time for so many people across our area.

    Today plans for flood defences in part of the city will be on show. The Environment Agency is spending £45m in the city to try and prevent a repeat of the 2015 floods.

    Here's what they want to do:

    • A new flood defence to the rear of the Memorial Gardens to reduce the risk of flooding to properties on Wellington Row, North Street, Rougier Street and George Hudson Street via flood water flowing across Station Avenue

    • Flood defences within the Royal Mail depot to reduce the risk of flooding on Leeman Road

    • Raising the existing flood gate under Lendal Bridge

    • Improvements to the resilience of the existing wall at Park Inn Hotel

    • Raising the existing flood wall and flood gates along Wellington Row/North Street

    • The Environment Agency wants to hear what you think about them.

    Officials in Leeds are being urged to host their own Year of Culture after they failed to win their bid to be European Capital of Culture.

    The city was one of five places in the UK bidding to take the title in 2023.

    But the European Commission stopped the process saying UK cities could no longer take part because of Brexit.

    Conservative Councillor Neil Buckley will open a full council debate on the issue later.

    A Parish councillor from Barnsley says he's having to wage a personal war against fly-tipping because the local authority is not doing enough.

    Kevin Osbourne says in the past year he's found dozens of piles of rubbish, but there's only been one successful prosecution of a fly-tipper by Barnsley Council during that time.

    He says the council's missing opportunities to punish fly-tippers.

  19. Funeral of stabbed supermarket worker Jodie Willsherpublished at 07:14 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2018

    The funeral is taking place today of Jodie Willsher who was stabbed to death just days before Christmas while working at a supermarket in Skipton.

    Her family say it will be a celebration of her life.

    Her husband Malcolm has asked those attending to wear something pink to remember his wife.

    Neville Hord, who's 44, is in custody charged with her murder at an Aldi store in the town.

    It will be closed today as a mark of respect.

    An online appeal for Jodie Willsher's husband and daughter has raised over £16,000.
