    BBC Radio Norfolk producer Edd Smith captured this footage of the roads being cleared at Hempnall, near Norwich, this morning.

    As the cold weather continues to hit the eastern region, train operator Greater Anglia has cancelled more than 800 services today.

    Travellers hoping to let the train take the strain in Cambridge, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire can get more details, external on the company's website.

    Journeys throughout the day until midnight are affected by cancellations and in addition, more than 200 other services are affected by delays or alterations.

    A tow truck came to the rescue of another rescue vehicle that was stuck between Haverhill and Steeple Bumpstead, on the Suffolk/Essex border, last night.

    This photo by Weather Watcher livethemoments witnessed the unfortunate incident.

    "The snow had drifted in places up to five feet", they said, with temperatures down to -5C (23F).

    Staff with the East of England Ambulance Service have been working through the night "to get to those who need us the most", they say.

    Peter Bumphrey, a duty locality officer and paramedic for North Essex, said on Twitter, external: "Only one Ambulance to dig out in North Essex, better than the night before! Phew!"

    As it stands, we are not aware of any delays or cancellations at Stansted Airport, external.

    The company says it is "continuing to monitor the adverse weather" at the airport.

    Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight with their airline and allow extra time to get to the airport because of "potential issues on the road and rail networks caused by the snow".

    It's PC Bartlett, South Norfolk Police's Twitter feed, external tells us, and he was stood on the A140, south of Long Stratton yesterday afternoon.

    We're hearing things in rural areas of the region haven't improved much since then, with drifting snow making some areas impassable for vehicles.

    An ambulance and a fire engine became stuck as they attempted to help drivers trapped in the snow drifts around Mickfield, Suffolk, overnight, police say.

    Both vehicles eventually managed to get out of trouble.

    Elsewhere, shortly after midnight a gritter became temporarily stuck on the A144.

    Norfolk Police says it has had to rescue stranded drivers who've become stuck in snow drifts overnight.

    The force says high winds have quickly covered roads, making many of them impassable.

    Some roads are closed in both directions after getting blocked by the snow.

    It's also going to be a snow day for thousands of children in Northamptonshire, as more than 100 schools are closed.

    Reasons include "frozen pipes" and to keep pupils and staff safe.
