    Pupils of 225 schools in Suffolk have got another day to practise their sledging technique.

    So far 173 primary schools and 28 upper and high schools have announced they're staying closed, with several other pupil referral units and special schools joining them.

    So far we know of six schools that are closed in Cambridgeshire this morning.

    They are:

    • Fourfields Primary School
    • Isleham Primary School
    • Ramsey Junior School
    • Ramsey Spinning Infants
    • Sir Harry Smith Community College
    • The Harbour Special School

    More than 42 schools will be closed today in Peterborough.

    At the moment the Peterborough City Council is unavailable, so all school closures are being posted on the Cambridgeshire County Council website, external.

    Train operator Greater Anglia has reissued advice for passengers to avoid travel unless "absolutely necessary".

    They say that services on their network may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to an hour.

    The A45, A509 and many town centre roads are smong those experiencing delays.

  18. Game of Thrones inspires naming of rescued Luton catpublished at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2018

    A tiny kitten, found wandering in the snow in Luton, has been named "Jon Snow" after a character in the hit TV show Games Of Thrones.

    The eight-week-old male, was found shivering and alone in Grantham Road, this morning, suffering from cat flu.

    Animal collection officer Kate Wright said: "Much like his Game of Thrones namesake, Jon Snow was bravely out in the cold but, with winter well and truly here, he was in real danger.

    "He was extremely cold and lethargic when he was found by a resident, but they took him into their home until I could get there to collect him.

    He is now in the care of the RSPCA Bedfordshire South branch, which is keen to know where he came from.
