  3. My night on the streets of MK: 'I can't wait for this to be over'published at 12:01 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2016

    Justin Dealey
    BBC Three Counties Radio

All of last night I slept rough on the streets of Milton Keynes.

It was really hard and I was completely freezing.

I, of course, only did it for one night and was able to go home to a warm house, but that's not the story for many people here in the new city.

  4. My night on the streets of MK: Jimmy looks after mepublished at 11:58 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2016

    Justin Dealey
    BBC Three Counties Radio

On my night on the streets of Milton Keynes, I met up with Jimmy, who said he would look after me.

I put myself in this position by presenting myself as homeless to the council.

It sadly couldn't help me and referred me to the local YMCA, but because I'm over 35 it couldn't accept me either.

The organisation said I would need to apply with a housing association, but that can take weeks or even months.

  5. My night on the streets of MK: Why I decided to sleep roughpublished at 11:50 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2016

    Justin Dealey
    BBC Three Counties Radio

So far this year in Milton Keynes, three homeless people have died on the streets.

This is a subject I have reported on a lot over the past few weeks.

The council says it is doing what it can deal with the problem, but the government has rejected its bid for £2m to help homeless people in the town.

So to see what happens if you end up on the street, I decided to present myself as homeless to the council.

  17. Black Friday weather: Dry and sunny with a brisk windpublished at 08:23 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2016

    Elizabeth Rizzini
    BBC Look East weather

It's a cooler start to what's going to be a bright and breezy day today.

There'll be a lot more in the way of sunshine, but we've still got that chilly and quite blustery north-easterly wind.

You'll feel that particularly towards coastal areas, where you'll have to factor in quite a bit of wind chill into today's temperatures, despite the sunshine.

    Highs of 9C (48F).
