Just over 300 homes are still without gas in mid-Bedfordshire after builders hit a main last Tuesday.
Thousands were affected, but efforts are now focused on Ampthill.
National Grid says virtually all of those still affected have been visited by workmen already, but people were either out or away when they called.
Engineers were out until late last night and have started visiting properties again today to get remaining properties switched on.
The company asks that if people are going to be out, can they call to say when they will be in by dialling 0845 835 1111, or by visiting the incident room set up at Maulden Village Hall.
"We're grateful to the residents for their continued patience and also to the council, other agencies, volunteers and all those who have been working with us, as we continue our operation to switch gas supplies back on," a spokesman said.

Here's a graphic of Etienne Capoue's opener, a historic one for Watford it turns out. They bagged after 33 seconds, marking the first time they have scored inside the first minute of a Premier League game.
Troy Deeney (9) played a significant part in the goal. Passing to Roberto Pereyra (37) before charging into the box as his team-mate took the ball towards the edge of the area. Deeney was then on hand to get the ball back and then assist Capoue.
