    A man has been arrested after a large quantity of cocaine and cannabis was seized in Bedford yesterday.

    Police say a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs after a property was raided in Argyll Street.

    The man has been released under investigation while further inquiries are carried out.

    A woman has died after being involved in a car crash in Stoke Poges in Buckinghamshire.

    Thames Valley Police, external say it happened at about 07:30 on Wednesday, 28 February on Grays Park Road.

    The 54-year-old woman, from Slough, was driving a silver Ford Fiesta when it collided with a grey Seat Alhambra private hire vehicle.

    She was taken to hospital where she died on Monday, 5 March.

    The two passengers in the Seat were seriously injured - one remains in hospital.

  3. Teenager stabbed in MK underpasspublished at 09:03 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2018

    A teenager has been arrested after another youngster was stabbed in Milton Keynes, external on Sunday.

    Thames Valley Police say an 18-year-old man was walking from Fuller Slade to Wolverton at about 20:15 when he was approached by three men in an underpass between Greenleys and Syward Row.

    They demanded he hand over his possessions, when he refused they stabbed him in the legs and he suffered a head injury. They took his mobile phone.

    He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

    An 18-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

    He has been release under investigation.

    A man has been stabbed after a fight outside a McDonalds restaurant in Watford, police have confirmed.

    The 23-year-old has injuries to his wrist and is being treated in hospital.

    Police say the "isolated incident" happened at around 14:00 in Watford High Street - and they are looking for two black teenagers.

    An architectural group is campaigning for a 1970s housing estate in Milton Keynes to be given conservation area status.

    Eaglestone was built by the architect Ralph Erskine, who also designed the Grade II-listed Byker housing estate in Newcastle upon Tyne.

    The Twentieth Century Society, external has recommended the northern part of Eaglestone be given special protection by planning authorities.

    The Society said: "Erskine was concerned that the form of his residential buildings should enhance the life of the occupants and this is evident at Eaglestone.

    "The pedestrian environment, segregated from traffic, is intended to encourage social exchange while houses are divided in ‘gossip groups’ or clusters around pedestrian paths and open spaces."

    Police believe an incident in Cheshunt Walsh this lunchtime could be a stabbing.

    They say a man, believed to be 22, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.

    A number of police units are there, including scenes of crime investigators.

    Thames Valley Police is investigating an "altercation" at a council meeting in Bletchley on Tuesday.

    Police were called to the Fenny Stratford Town Council meeting at the Queensway Methodist Church at about 19:40 after reports of a "verbal altercation" when a member of the public "barged" into the meeting.

    The meeting had to be abandoned and police are investigating the alleged offence under the Public Meeting Act.

    It is also investigating a report of a "racially aggravated public order offence" which allegedly took place outside the building.

    Milton Keynes-based Domino's broke through the £1bn sales barrier for the first time in 2017, helped by the opening of 95 new stores.

    The company says economic pressures such as rising inflation and the fall in the value of the pound mean that more people are choosing to buy takeaways to eat at home, rather than going out to a restaurant.

    Chief executive David Wild said it was "a year of significant progress for Domino's, despite the weaker consumer demand and cost inflation affecting the sector".

    Police are out in force in Bedford today to try and reduce the number of collisions involving cyclists.

    The Beds, Cambs and Herts Roads Policing Unit has begun Operation Velo, where they are hoping to change drivers behaviours.

    Police say plain clothed officers will be out on bicycles in the town centre identifying drivers of vehicles who do not adopt a "safe pass" approach.

    So far today they have caught a driver using a phone and another going through a red light.

    Today is #InternationalWomensDay and to mark the annual event, Bletchley Park is celebrating the achievement of its female workforce.

    During World War Two, 75% of employees at the Buckinghamshire code-breaking site were women.

    The roles of women varied from code-breaking, operating communication equipment, driving and using the Bombe machine.
