    The Coronation Concert will feature a Union Flag-shaped stage

    Tomorrow morning we'll be back with a live page of coverage and analysis of The Coronation Big Lunch.

    Then at 20:00 the Coronation Concert will be broadcast live from Windsor Castle on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

    It will be hosted by Hugh Bonneville and feature performances from British pop group Take That, international superstar Lionel Richie, pop icon Katy Perry and opera star Andrea Bocelli.

    It will also feature, for the first time ever, a joint performance from The Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera House, the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal College of Music and The Royal College of Art.

    Christchurch Priory will be celebrating the Coronation with a light and colour display later.

    The venue will be holding a special projection mapping from 21:00 BST in honour of King Charles III.

    A spokesperson for the priory said it would be a "breath-taking celebration of the historic event".

    King Charles has been crowned at his Coronation, the first in the UK for 70 years.

    Shortly afterwards, his wife Camilla was crowned Queen.

    As the BBC reported, after the crown was placed on Charles' head, cries of "God Save the King" were heard inside and outside Westminster Abbey.

    Gun salutes were made across the UK, the abbey bells rang for two minutes, and corks were popped on the Mall in London where thousands had gathered.

    Chinooks from RAF Odiham in Hampshire are headed to Buckingham Palace for a flypast.

    There was meant to be 60 aircraft in the Coronation flypast, but the weather has meant it's only safe for a few to fly.

    Helicopters and the Red Arrows will be involved in the event, which will now run for two minutes and 30 seconds as opposed to the original six minute display.

    In Portsmouth at HM Royal Naval base, a traditional Royal gun salute was fired at 12:01 BST, the exact moment King Charles III was crowned.

    It comprised of 21 rounds and was carried out by the HMS Collingwood Ceremonial Saluting Gun Crew.

    The Close Range Training Element, consisting of Senior and Junior Ratings, is responsible for all State Ceremonial Gun Salutes in the Portsmouth area for the Royal Navy.

    The Gun Salutes include Coronation Day, Royal Birthday’s, State Funeral’s, Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.

  14. Flypast scaled down due to weather - MoDpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    We've just received some breaking news from the Ministry of Defence in the last few moments.

    It relates to the flypast which is still expected to take place in 30 minutes or so.

    A statement says: "Due to unsuitable weather conditions, the Coronation flypast will now be formed of helicopters and the Royal Air Force aerobatic team The Red Arrows.

    "The flypast will last for two minutes and 30 seconds."

    The team at Legoland in Windsor have created a speicla display to mark the Coronation.

    Model makers created a tiny replica of Buckingham Palace featuring the King and Queen Consort on the balcony waving to the crowds below, along with the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children.

    They've also built the Windsor Castle coronation concert complete with orchestra and pop group Take That.

    It took them more than 1,000 hours to build the new models.

    We have all been impressed by Penny Mordaunt's upper body strength during the Coronation as she held two different swords throughout the ceremony.

    Here in the office we have received messages about it from our families watching at home and it has also been noticed on social media.

    People are praising the strength and composure of the Lord President of the Council and Portsmouth North MP.

    She held the Sword of State in the procession through Westminster Abbey, before exchanging it for the Jewelled Sword of Offering which was then placed into the King's right hand and subsequently returned to Ms Mordaunt.

  19. Coronation Procession gets goingpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    The command is now given for this huge procession to step off.

    Nearly 4,000 UK armed forces personnel are in formation - marching in step with each other.

    This is a major military ceremonial operation that’s been described as the largest of its kind for a generation.

    There have been six weeks of rehearsals to make sure all the marching bands are synchronised.
