    After camping out on the Mall since Tuesday, a group of pensioners from Dorset and Hampshire met the King when he decided to greet well-wishers during a walkabout outside Buckingham Palace.

    Margaret Tinsley, 81, said: "I have been in tears on and off since."

    Thousands of ceremonial troops rehearsed ahead of the King's Coronation at RAF Odiham in Hampshire on Sunday.

    The troops practised at the airbase which had been transformed into a life-size replica of the procession route, bringing together the largest parade of military personnel since Winston Churchill's funeral.
