The man who died after being tasered by police in Telford last night is believed to be the former Aston Villa footballer Dalian Atkinson.
The police have not yet formally identified the dead man, but people living in the area have named him to reporters.

West Mercia Police said officers responded to a report of concern for the safety of a man at about 01:30 BST in the Trench area of Telford.
A Taser was used on the 48-year-old man and after receiving medical help, he was pronounced dead at about 03:00.
Almost half of repeat knife offenders were not immediately jailed, despite new laws requiring judges to impose a prison sentence.
