    Hundreds of live rifle rounds and knives have been found in weapon surrender bins across Birmingham and the Black Country. 

    The bullets were dropped in the bin at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Wolverhampton, along with nine kitchen knives.

    Eight men have been arrested after a fight at Birmingham railway station last night in which one man was taken to hospital with a head injury, police say.

    British Transport Police say they arrested the men, who were aged between 28 and 60., external

    The men boarded the train at Worcester Foregate Street at around 19:30 and got off Birmingham's University station after a brawl broke out on the train and spilled onto the platform at about 20:00.

    The head injuries the man sustained are not thought to be life threatening, police say.

    People living in Cannock are being warned by the local council that their recycling bins might not be emptied in the future, external if they put wrong items in.

    Cannock Chase Council says they've seen a "marked increased" in loads being rejected at their recycling facility due to containing "unacceptable items". 

    The authority says key wrong items include nappies, animal bedding, food waste and paint pots.

    West Midlands tourist attractions have seen an increase in the amount of people visiting them, according to new figures. 

    Visit England's annual survey shows footfall grew by 6% in 2015, external, which is the biggest regional increase in the country. 

    MAC Birmingham was the most visited free attraction outside of London and the south east, with over a million visitors last year.

    The region's most popular paid for attraction was Drayton Manor Theme Park in Tamworth.

    A body of a male has been washed up on Barmouth beach, say police.

    The search for two Birmingham teenagers who went missing off the Gwynedd coast on Sunday was called off earlier this week.

    Police officers say the body is yet to be identified.

    Waseem Al-Muflehi, who was 15, and Yahya Mohammed, who was 14, disappeared in the sea at Barmouth beach after getting into difficulty on Sunday afternoon.

    A self-employed builder is set to stand trial next year over the murder of his former partner in Birmingham 35 years ago. 

    Nova Welsh, who was 24, was killed in August 1981 - her body was discovered in a utility cupboard at a block of flats on Lighthorne Avenue.

    Father of two, Osmund Bell, from Regent Rd, Handsworth, spoke only to confirm his name in a 20 minute hearing at Birmingham Crown Court.

    Bail was refused and he was remanded into custody with a trial set for February next year.
