    The Wolves interim head coach Rob Edwards says he can't think about the possibility of getting the job full-time for the moment.

    He told a press conference this afternoon all his energies are going into preparing the team for the weekend. 

    Wolves visit Blackburn on Saturday evening for their first match since the dismissal of Walter Zenga on Tuesday. 

    Edwards is delighted to be in charge for now, but says he really hasn't had time to consider whether he could be the long-term replacement for Zenga.

    Kashmiris from Birmingham set off this morning to take part in a national demonstration outside the Indian High Commission in London. 

    The Himalayan region has been disputed since 1947, which has led to wars between India and Pakistan. 

    Demonstrators from Birmingham, Walsall and Wolverhampton will be joining other Kashmiris from across the UK in the protest.

    A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of funding terrorism.

    The suspect, from Coventry, was detained at Birmingham Airport after flying into the city by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit.

    The arrest on Thursday morning is part of a continuing investigation into the financing of terrorism and was intelligence-led, police say.

    West Midlands Police say, external there was no risk to any passengers at Birmingham Airport or to the wider public in relation to the arrest.

    A 68-year-old woman collapsed after being prescribed drugs she was allergic to. 

    Sandwell Hospital says it is investigating after Arabella Boney, from West Bromwich collapsed after taking the painkiller cocodamol. 

    Mrs Boney was in hospital for a month and her family say she's never fully recovered.

    A delegation from the US athletics governing body is coming to Birmingham today to talk about a training camp that could be held in the city next year.

    If USA Track and Field go ahead with the camp it would mean the US team would be based here ahead of the IAAF World Championships.

    The Jamaican and US teams were based here before the 2012 Olympics.

  17. Birmingham prison staff fears over inmate drug usepublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 27 October 2016

    Drugs are regularly being smuggled into Winson Green Prison, a report has found. 

    Many staff are concerned that inmates are taking substances which can make them violent and show signs of extreme strength, stretching the resources of the prison.

    The Independent Monitoring Board report said although the prison continues to improve, staff numbers must grow.

    A prison spokesman said it is working "relentlessly" to stop drugs coming in.

  19. Walsall Library closures: Government asked to step inpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 27 October 2016

    The government is being urged to step in to protect Walsall's libraries.

    All but one of its 16 branches are facing closure with Walsall Council having to find £86m over the next four years because of cuts. 

    The Labour MP for Walsall South, Valerie Vaz, told the commons it's young people that will lose out.
