    Only on Saturday Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards was backing Zenga, praising the way he's brought the team together in his short time at the club and saying "every single player was behind him".

    Wolves lost 0-1 to Leeds United.

    A van's been stolen in Tamworth after police say thieves reached through a window with some kind of instrument to hook the keys to the vehicle. , external

    Staffordshire Police say it happened last night on Sunset Close and they made off with the silver Peugeot Boxer. 

    The force adds that there were also attempted burglaries in parts of Lichfield where they think criminals were trying to steal keys to vehicles.

    A man's been convicted of murdering teenager Kenichi Phillips in a drive-by shooting earlier this year. 

    Disharn Downie was part of a group that opened fire on the car he was in on St Marks Crescent in Ladywood, Birmingham, in March, police say.

    West Midlands Police say Downie, 18, from Bartley Green has also been found guilty of attempted murder, external and attempted grievous bodily harm in relation to two other people who were in the car at the time.

    Co-accused Dean Silvera, 37, from Rowley Regis, was cleared of murder but found guilty of assisting an offender. They'll be sentenced next month.   

  4. Wolves confirm Zenga departurepublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 25 October 2016

    In the last few minutes Wolves have confirmed that Walter Zenga has left the club, along with Stefano Cusin and that Rob Edwards has been placed in charge of the first team.

    The club says it will now be carrying out a "thorough process to recruit a new Head Coach", but won't say how long that might take.

    Royal Mail has announced it's looking for around 800 people across the Midlands, external to work in three parcel sorting centres in the run up to Christmas.

    The temporary bases in Atherstone, Coventry and Birmingham are part of a network of nine depots used to cope with demand over the festive season. 

    The centres will begin opening from the end of October.

    The number of shops closing in high streets across the West Midlands appears to be slowing down, according to a new survey.

    Figures from accountancy firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers show that fewer shops are shutting compared to a year ago.

    Although the number of closures still outstrip openings, traditional high streets across the region are continuing to fightback against the growth of big online retailers.

    A 39-year-old man has been jailed for 21 years after being found guilty of murdering a man in an internet cafe.

    Douane Brown stabbed Horace Williams in the neck at Cape Hill Bureau De Change and Internet Cafe in Smethwick in April.

    Brown, of Bickington Road, Birmingham has been jailed for a minimum of 21 years.

    A woman from Dudley says she's been failed by the system after the imam who abused her as a child fled the country a day after being convicted of the crime.

    Hafiz Rahman was found guilty of sexually assaulting two girls in the 1980s, at Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier this month. 

    Police say he flew to Bangladesh before he could be sentenced. 

    Nabila Sharma, not her real name, was one of his victims.
