    London Midland has apologised for cancelling the last two trains between Birmingham and Leamington Spa on Saturday night 

    The cancellations meant people enjoying the city’s German market, concerts and festive parties were unable to get trains at 23:00 and 23:40 to stations including Solihull, Dorridge and Warwick.

    A spokesman said the issue was caused by a “lack of train crew”, adding replacement coaches had been provided to take people by road to all stops on the affected route.

    I first met Khalid in 2005 when he was just 16. He was already an outstanding talent with ambitions to fight at the Beijing Olympics.

    Toyah Wilcox and Don Maclean are going to join Birmingham's Walk Of Stars.

    Both were presented with special plaques at the city's Rep theatre yesterday, with their stars due to be laid in Broad Street in the New Year.

    Toyah, the It's a Mystery singer, hopes her star will be placed near the site of her father's former antiques shop where the Hyatt Hotel now stands.

    She said: "Wow - if there's anyway they could see me now - they'd have realised that the troublesome teenager they brought into the world was worth all the pain."
