I don't like to say I'm a nurse if I'm out socialising and then once I'd seen he was unconscious, I thought, 'I need to sort him out'. I turned him over and obvioiusly he was purple. His friends were hysterical, they was just shouting his name constantly. I had to tell them to get away and then I had to start CPR."

Stunning stuff from Dan Evans. The 26-year-old Brummie wins his first match in the Aussie Open main draw - he's into round two.

When Dan Evans applies himself he is some player. He is unpredictable and keeps a lot of guys off balance. He's different and it is a great tool to have. He has a lot of substance and it is the product of a lot of hard work.

He has been on a huge high after the best week of his career. He has got himself reset.

This is more impressive than the week in Sydney for me. He is showing real class. And he has a lot of years left on tour where he can do some fantastic things.
