    The Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands says he wants to find a solution to the issue of travellers camping on parks and other private land. 

     A summit involving travellers and other parties will be held at Lloyd House in Birmingham today.

    The 26-year-old former Crewe trainee joined the Clarets for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

    Birmingham could get its own indoor Lego attraction. 

    It would be based at the Barclaycard Arena and be split across three levels, employing between 40 and 50 people, according to the planning application, external.

    The proposal for the Legoland Discovery Centre will go before the city's planning committee next week.

    A pensioner has died after a severe fire at a house in Birmingham, emergency services have confirmed.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service says it was called to City Road in the Edgbaston area at about 04.40 on Friday.

    A spokesman confirmed firefighters were battling a fire that was affecting two properties.  

    "The building was very badly damaged and sadly, the body of one person was found inside."

    West Midlands Police confirmed a 75-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

    A Birmingham man who swallowed 100 packages of cocaine and tried to smuggle them into the UK through Stansted Airport has been jailed for four years and four months. 

    Samuel Okoye was stopped by Border Force officers when his flight from Amsterdam arrived in December. 

    The cocaine had an estimated street value of £100,000. 

    Okoye, 38, of Abbey Street, Birmingham, admitted attempting to import a Class A drug at an earlier hearing and was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court in London yesterday.
