Suriyah Bi was sacked from Heartlands Academy in 2015 after raising concerns about the video - which showed people falling to their deaths during the 2001 terror attack on the World Trade Center in New York.

Ms Bi was fired on the morning she made the complaint and says the reason given for her dismissal was that she was "uncomfortable with the curriculum". She claims her Muslim heritage meant her objection was automatically taken to have been made on "religious grounds" and subsequently took her case to court.

In a statement, the trust that runs Heartlands Academy says although they are "extremely disappointed" in the tribunal's findings, it welcomes news that the tribunal rejected outright "any claims of direct religious discrimination".

Mums and dads in the West Midlands are being charged the biggest premium - with property near a school rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted costing up to 32 per cent more across the region.

    Quote Message

Every parent wants a good start for their child...I think you would be spending that kind of money for political reasons because you wouldn't want to send your child to a private school or because you just want to move to a better area because good primary schools tend to be in good areas.
