  1. Travel: Delays warning on Shrewsbury - Wolverhampton trainspublished at 08:50 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

    There are delays on trains between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton, National Rail is warning, external.

    It's due to a signalling problem near Cosford.

    London Midland is operating a reduced service, while Arriva Trains Wales expects delays of up to 45 minutes until midday.

    The family of a man from Birmingham who died after being hit by a driver allegedly high on drink and drugs in Majorca say they're desperate to get him home.

    He was on his way back to his hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning when it happened. He didn't have travel insurance so a family friend has helped raise money to get him home. 

    The coroner is yet to release his body.

  4. Ched Evans: 10 named rape accuser on social mediapublished at 08:16 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

    Ten men who revealed the identity of a woman who accused Chesterfield footballer Ched Evans of rape have been cautioned by police.  

    The Chesterfield striker was cleared of the offence at a retrial in 2016. He had been accused of attacking the woman in a hotel room in Rhyl, Denbighshire.

    Following the retrial, North Wales Police investigated after the woman's name was revealed on social media.

    The men, aged between 16 and 23, were from the Sheffield, Derbyshire and Birmingham areas.

    Anyone who reports being a victim of a sex offence is guaranteed lifelong anonymity under the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.

    Did you go to the Bruno Mars gig in Birmingham last night. If so, did you get in?

    Are you going tonight? How confident are you of gaining entry?

    We've been hearing today from people who had problems with their tickets to the Barclaycard Arena show. People left outside say they either didn't get in or were late and missed part of the performance.

    Ian Arblaster said he was left queuing for more than two hours because of an issue with scanning the tickets of those ahead of him. He eventually decided to walk up to the doors and ask for his ticket to be scanned and it worked.

    Birmingham City captain Paul Robinson has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association following Sunday's Second City derby defeat at Aston Villa.

    Robinson, 38, appeared to aim a kick at Villa skipper James Chester after Gabby Agbonlahor's 68th-minute winner.

    The incident was not seen by the match officials but was caught on video.

    Full-back Robinson has until 18:00 on Wednesday to reply to the charge.

    A JustGiving page set up by the widow, external of the former Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu has already raised more than £13,000.

    Gemma Ehiogu started the page on Saturday with an original target of £1,000 to establish a charity in her husband's name.

    The 44-year-old former footballer died on Friday after a cardiac arrest.

    Tougher guidance urging GPs to report patients who continue to drive when not medically fit has come into force today. 

    New advice by the General Medical Council says doctors have a duty to inform the authorities if someone is driving against medical advice. 

    Doctors don't need a patient's consent to tell the DVLA. 

    Last month a Sutton Coldfield family called for a change in the law after a pensioner with poor eyesight knocked down and killed three-year-old Poppy Arabella Clarke.

  20. UKIP MEP quits post over burka banpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 25 April 2017

    West Midlands UKIP MEP James Carver has resigned as the party's Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs spokesman.

    It follows the announcement of the party's policy pledge to ban the Muslim tradition of women wearing full face veils.

    Mr Carver said he "strongly disagreed" with the "misguided policy".

    He said "no-one has the right to dictate what people should wear".
