    The Aston Expressway is closed in both directions, motorway police say.

    Highways England has more detail on the “police incident’s” effect on motorists.

    It says the closure's affecting entry and exit slip roads includes roads leading to and from Salford Circus.

  2. Charity football match remembers those killed in Tunisia terror attackpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

    Thousands turned out in Walsall for a celebrity football match in memory of the victims of a terror attack on a beach in Tunisia.

    It was organised in part by the family of Joel Richards, a University of Worcester student, who died alongside uncle Adrian Evans, grandfather Patrick Evans and 35 others in shootings near Sousse in 2015.

    The money raised will be split between Compton Hospice and Smile for Joel,  a charity set up by his mother Suzy and and brother Owen.

    We're asking people across the country to tell us what #GetsMyVote as the general election on 8 June draws closer.

    Kerri Bullingham, 20, will vote for the second time, in next month's ballot. 

    Ms Bullingham (pictured at Birmingham New Street Station) said "tuition fees" was the main issue on her mind as the election approached. 

    "They are just too expensive," she said. 

    Ms Bullingham, of Great Barr, Birmingham, is facing fees of about £9,000 a year to study aviation management in the city. 

    "I'm shocked really," she said. 

    "I don't think fees should be scrapped as that would not be beneficial overall, but lower them to make it more affordable."

    Birmingham Dental Hospital and some GP surgeries in Solihull are among sites still recovering from Friday's cyber-attack on NHS services.

    Hackers targeted the health service as part of a global strike affecting 150 countries.

    The dental hospital says care continues to be delivered, but has asked patients to "please bear with us as we check our IT systems". 

  6. Evha Jannath: Post-mortem due after Drayton Manor park deathpublished at 09:49 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

    A post-mortem examination is expected to take place after the death of an 11-year-old at Drayton Manor theme park last Tuesday. 

    Evha Jannath, from Leicester, was on a school trip on Tuesday when she fell from a boat on the Splash Canyon ride.  

    The park reopened over the weekend, following an investigation by police and health and safety officials, but the ride itself and others nearby remained closed.

    Despite being out of the running to defend their One-Day Cup title, Warwickshire managed to pull off a win against the group leaders Yorkshire.

    Captain Ian Bell fell two short of a century as the Bears won by five wickets at Edgbaston.  

    Yorkshire slip to second and are replaced at the top of the North Group by Worcestershire, who beat Durham, but their 10 points from seven matches means they cannot slip outside the top three.
