    Members of a drugs gang arrested as part of an operation into the supply of Class A drugs have been jailed for between three and six years.

    They were arrested after raids on properties in Malvern and Birmingham in December 2015 when "significant quantities" of Class A drugs, including heroin and crack cocaine, were seized, West Mercia Police said.

    The four admitted conspiring to supply Class A drugs and were sentenced yesterday at Birmingham Crown Court.

    They received the following sentences:

    • Shane Jonas, 20, of Beaconview Road, West Bromwich was sentenced to five years and seven months
    • Kiyan Jones, 19, of Shenstone Road, Edgbaston was sentenced to six years and nine months in a young offenders institution
    • Elliot Whittock, 21, of Kendrick Grove, Birmingham, was sentenced to five years and three months
    • Neil Bozward, 45, of Duke of Edinburgh Way, Malvern, was sentenced to three years and five months. In a separate case Bozward was sentenced this week for child prostitution offences at Stafford Crown Court

    A Birmingham man has been sharing the perks of working as part of the recycling team at Glastonbury Festival - he gets a free ticket.

    Kristian Birch-Hurst arrived at Worthy Farm on Tuesday and will be working to clean up the site during and after the festival for the fourth consecutive year.

    The annual event, external is hosting acts including Radiohead, Ed Sheeran and The Jacksons over the weekend.

    The group of men, Staffordshire Police says, have targeted the homes of small business owners in several roads between 16 June and 21 June.

    In all cases, the force says they've worn face coverings or balaclavas, got in through doors and windows and then escaped in a white Audi.

    A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with violent disorder and a collision in which a pedestrian was hit by a car in Highgate, Birmingham, last Sunday.

    The 45 year old remains in police custody. Three men arrested in connection with the same incidents have been released while investigations continue.

    A 25-year-old is in hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

    Several other people went to hospital with non life-threatening injuries including fractures and stab wounds.
