    Anne Marie Walters was in West Bromwich on Tuesday night as part of her bid to win the party's third leadership election in a year.

    Children as young as 12 are working as drug dealers, a report by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, external has revealed.

    It also reveals more than 22,000 people are using Class A drugs in the region - which is costing public services more than a billion pounds a year.

    Aston Villa has revealed plans to increase the capacity of Villa Park to 60,000 and create a new football philosophy dubbed the 'Villa Engine'.

    Chief Executive Keith Wyness says the stadium expansion would only happen when the club returns to the Premier League.

    He also says the 'Villa Engine' relates to a style of play which would extend from the academy to the first team.

    A notorious burglar - who posed as a police officer to trick his way into victims' homes - has been jailed for more than nine years, external.

    John Casey, 52, from Birmingham, stole cash and bank cards during a series of distraction burglaries across the city as well as Coventry, Sandwell and other parts of the country.

    He pleaded guilty to nine burglaries - worth a total of more than £1,800 between 2013 and April this year - and was sentenced to a total of nine years and three months in prison.

  7. Men freed from Swiss prisonpublished at 10:15 British Summer Time 6 September 2017

    Three men are back home after being freed from a Swiss jail, 13 weeks after being arrested.

    David Bentley from Bridgnorth, Julian Wilson from Nottinghamshire and Adrian Harrold from Wolverhampton, were taking part in a car rally tour when they were arrested over violations of Switzerland's road traffic laws.

    The men were handed suspended sentences of between 13 and 14 months, after being accused of reaching speeds of up to 177kph (109mph).

    The organiser of the rally said friends and family went out the bring the men and their cars home.
