The High Court is expected to make a decision in the case of a man from Shropshire who wants to change the law on assisted dying.
Noel Conway, 67, from near Ironbridge, has motor neurone disease and says current legislation prevents him from having a choice over his death and fears he'll be forced to suffer.
His lawyers have led a judicial review calling for assisted dying to be made legal within the last six months of a person's life.

A firefighter from Warwickshire caught up in the Las Vegas massacre whilst on holiday has been thanked for his selfless actions tending to casualties.
Tony Dumbleton, a crew commander at Nuneaton Fire Station, was on holiday in Las Vegas with his wife at the time of the shooting.
He told Channel 4 News he saw a man who had been shot through the shoulder, before other casualties started coming through the doors of his hotel.
"People were bleeding heavily, we were just patching them up," he said.
Rob Moyney, from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue, commended Mr Dumbleton for his "selfless actions to help others while potentially putting himself in harm's way".
Quote MessageAlthough often faced with challenging and complex situations, his bravery and actions in this instance were well beyond all expectations. We look forward to seeing Tony back in Warwickshire safe and well.

Health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, says he is backing moves for a full public inquiry into the actions of the disgraced West Midlands breast surgeon, Ian Paterson.
He said NHS patients deserved to know how the scandal happened.
The 59-year-old surgeon carried out unnecessary breast operations in both NHS and private hospitals, and was convicted of 17 counts of wounding with intent and three counts of unlawful wounding against 10 private patients.
Quote MessageIt's just totally shocking what that man did, evil. I think we, all of us, feel that we have a duty to all NHS patients to make sure that we have understood exactly how it happened and to really be confident that we are doing everything we can."

After three police officers were cleared of perjury and perverting the course of justice following the death of Kingsley Burrell, a family spokesperson has called for a new review into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Speaking outside Birmingham Crown Court today, Desmond Jaddoo said the "damning narrative verdict of neglect" by emergency services was yet to be acted upon.
"We now request that the Home Secretary now place our 2015 request for a public inquiry into these systemic failings back on the agenda, as promised, following the conclusion of these proceedings," he said.
Quote MessageThere remains insufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction against any officers or medical health professionals involved in the restraint and treatment of Kingsley Burrell."

Two trade unions, Unite and pilots' union Balpa, have confirmed they will be seeking compensation for Monarch employees left "out of pocket and out of a job" following the airline's sudden collapse earlier this week.
Balpa described the treatment of its members as "unbelievably cold hearted" after it claims pilots had to spend almost £40 to join a telephone conference where their redundancies were announced.
Under UK law, companies with more than 100 employees must give at least 45 days' notice of their intention to make people redundant.
About 1,900 employees lost their jobs when the firm went into administration on Monday.
Quote MessageSince Monday we've seen appalling treatment of Monarch staff. Not only were they given no warning of this situation but some have had to shell out their own cash to be told they've lost their job
