    Officers have finished searching pools at Ellowes Hall Wood in Dudley in their search for missing Gornal teenager Natalie Putt.

    The 17-year-old went missing in 2003, leaving behind her 11-week-old son.

    Police say "although nothing new has been found" there are likely to be further searches in nearby woodland "in the very near future".

    The family of a Hereford soldier whose army boots were stolen from his grave are offering to buy whoever took them a new pair in an effort to get them returned.

    Kurt Smith died in May this year while serving with the Royal Artillery in Portsmouth - because he loved the army so much, his family put his boots on his grave and planted them with heathers.

    His mother, Trena Blake, says they have huge sentimental value.

    A 67-year-old man from Shrewsbury has lost his legal bid to change the law on assisted dying.

    Noel Conway, a retired lecturer, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease three years ago.

    He says when he wants to end his life he should be able to seek medical help for a "peaceful and dignified" death.

    Currently, anyone who helped Mr Conway would be committing a criminal offence.

    His lawyers have led a judicial review calling for assisted dying to be made legal within the last six months of a person's life.

    Solihull Council has confirmed it has received a complaint detailing concerns about a Conservative councillor’s Twitter account.

    The worries centre around what’s claimed to be controversial material retweeted on the account of Margaret Bassett, who represents Solihill.

    The complaint comes a day after West Midlands Police confirmed officers are investigating tweets allegedly reposted by another Solihull councillor Jeff Potts, who's been suspended from the Conservative group.

    Officers say they've received two allegations of hate crime.

    The council says the complaint will be dealt with under the Code of Conduct procedure.

    Two men aged 86 will appear in court to face charges over historical child abuse offences and assaults at St Gilbert’s School in Worcestershire.

    An 86-year-old man from Cambridge is accused of assault and sex offences against 18 boys during the 1960s and 1970s.

    Another man, from Longniddry, East Lothian, is accused of assaulting, ill-treating, neglecting or abandoning a child in the 1960s.

    Police began investigating the school after BBC Hereford & Worcester reported in 2014 what happened to boys at the school in Hartlebury from the 1940s onwards.

    Traffic signage in the city centre is "legal and fair" says Coventry City Council following an investigation into a much-criticised bus lane.

    The city's opposition Conservative party claimed drivers could have been wrongly fined for driving down the bus-only lane through the Whittle arches.

    Conservative councillor Tim Mayer said an independent adjudicator found that signage on the bus-only lane through the Whittle arches isn't good enough.

    The councillor in charge of city services Jayne Innes said they've looked into the issue and found the signage to be "correct", but have put five additional signs "to give people a little bit more warning".

    The mother of a man killed in a terrorist attack in Sousse in Tunisia says she's surprised the government's relaxed its travel advice for the country.

    University of Worcester student Joel Richards (pictured), from Wednesbury, died alongside his uncle and grandfather, when a gunman opened fire on a hotel beach two years ago.

    The Foreign Office says Tunisian authorities have now improved security measures and package holidays will resume from next year.

    The 15-year-old boy was found by officers on patrol at the junction of Anthony Road just before 21:00 on Thursday 28 September.

    They're appealing for the driver to "do the right thing" and come forward after the boy needed surgery for "significant" facial injuries.

    Tributes have been paid to a six-year-old girl killed in a flat fire in Stoke-on-Trent.

    Tafaoul Fadoul, from Ringlands Close, died in hospital on Wednesday afternoon, two days after her mother Zainab Adam, 36.

    Her six-month-old sister Tamunni Fadoul, remains in a critical condition in hospital.

    Lynne Williamson, Tafaoul's head teacher, said staff and pupils were "devastated by the news of the tragic loss of such a beautiful little girl".

    She said Tafaoul had arrived at Hanley St Luke's CofE Primary unable to speak English, but "made fantastic progress because of her hard work and wonderful personality".

    She said the pupil was "so full of fun and potential" and would be "greatly missed".

    Artist Graham Ibbeson was commissioned to create the bronze in 1993 as a tribute to the man credited with starting the game of rugby in 1823.

    Rights to reporoduce the statue are also up for grabs, with the lot estimated to make £210,000.

    Ibbeson, from Barnsley, said he used his 13-year-old son Max as a model for the statue.

    A contentious plan to expand the river Avon between Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick is being considered.

    For decades boat enthusiasts have campaigned to make the 12-mile stretch navigable and to link it to the grand union canal, and now Stratford District Council is conducting a feasibility study.

    But the custodian of the county's last working water mill, which is powered by the river, says the Grade Two listed building could be destroyed if plans go ahead.

    Two Stoke-on-Trent MPs have written a letter to the government suggesting the city should be considered as a new location for Channel 4.

    Gareth Snell and Ruth Smeeth have urged the culture secretary to consider the Potteries as a base for some of the TV channel's 800 staff.

    Birmingham and Coventry are among a list of other cities which have also shown interest.

    Channel 4 says taking its headquarters out of London would be highly damaging.

    Despite taking a four-point lead into the second leg, it all came down to the final heat of the night, with the visitors Swindon doing just enough to claim the title.
