    Police have released an image of a man they want to talk to in connection with money being fraudulently withdrawn from an elderly woman's account.

    The woman, from Handsworth, was phoned by a man posing as a police officer, claiming to be investigating fraud on her bank card.

    He then allegedly tricked her into handing over her bank card and PIN.

    Police have asked anyone with any information to get in touch and have issued a reminder that no government body would ever call asking for personal bank details.

    Shrewsbury Town fans are talking promotion – even if the club isn’t.

    Shrewsbury remain top of League One and the only unbeaten side in the Football League after yet another success at the weekend – 1-0 against Fleetwood.

    Police are appealing for witnesses after the car failed to stop.

    A woman in her 30s has been found injured at an address in Erdington, Birmingham, after what police believe to be a domestic incident.

    A man in his 30s was found at the scene on Gunter Road with knife wounds, which are believed to have been self inflicted.

    Emergency services were called at about 22:40 on Sunday and both the man and woman were taken to hospital.

    The man will be questioned in due course, police say.

    Research found that people with traits associated with autism spectrum disorders often felt excluded from society, a burden on friends and family, and experienced depression.

    Dr Sarah Cassidy, from Coventry University, said: "This is a shocking wake-up call for society, when a significant section of the population feel that they don’t belong in the world. As a society we urgently must do more. This could ultimately save lives."

    A six-month-old baby who was injured in a flat fire that killed her mother and sister remains in a critical condition three weeks after the incident.

    Tafaoul Fadoul, six, from Ringlands Close, Stoke-on-Trent, died in hospital on 4 October, two days after her mother Zainab Adam, 36.

    A fire at an industrial unit in Balsall Heath is believed to have been started deliberately.

    The blaze started shortly after 01:00 and had destroyed much of the building on Edward Road by the time it was brought under control at about 03:45.

    At its height, at least 25 firefighters and five fire engines were at the scene.

    The cause of the fire is not yet known, but another inspection of the site this morning led the fire service to believe it was arson.

    Police have confirmed officers are investigating.

    A 12-year-old boy from Wednesbury has said he was overcome by excitement at receiving a BBC Radio 1 Teen Heroes award.

    Harrison Wright turned his life around through diet and exercise, after being sent a letter to say he was overweight.

    He documented his journey on social media in a bid to inspire others.

    "The rush of all the excitement just goes through you. I was really nervous before I went on, but then I was just calm and I enjoyed it," he said.

    A man who died in a Bloxwich crash that left his 17-year-old brother seriously injured has been named as Kieron Ford.

    The 21-year-old driver died after his car hit a tree on Ingram Road, Bloxwich, Walsall, at about 23:30 on Friday.

    His family said they were "devastated to have lost a loving father, son, brother and grandson in such tragic circumstances".

    His brother remains in hospital in a stable condition after suffering serious internal injuries and multiple fractures in the crash.

    Salmon have been spotted putting on a spectacular show at the weir in Shrewsbury as they race to their upriver spawning grounds.

    The annual migration sees the fish head from the icy Atlantic back to the warmer waters of the River Severn.
