    A special invention is helping a young Birmingham girl rediscover her lost memories.

    Aman is 10 years old and has severe memory loss due to a car accident in 2015. She had to learn again how to walk, talk and even eat.

    Even today, she can't remember special family moments and struggles to follow lessons at school.

    Computer scientist Haiyan Zhang has found a way to help bring back her memories as part of a Children in Need special of the Big Life Fix.

    A road sweeper is dealing with a shed-load of aubergines which has closed the A51 Nantwich Bypass in Cheshire.

    The road is closed in both directions after a collision between two lorries at around 03:00.

    The crash happened close to Reaseheath Zoo, Reaseheath College.

    Highways teams worked through the night to resurface a stretch of the M6 in Cheshire after a crash yesterday lunchtime.

    A lorry jackknifed through the central reservation between Lymm and Knutsford, spilling diesel on to the carriageway.

    There were major delays on the M6 and surrounding routes, as three lanes northbound had to be closed.

    The road is now fully open.

    A gun maker from Herefordshire will pay a poignant tribute today to those who fell in one of the bloodiest battles of World War One.

    A hundred blank rounds will be fired to mark the centenary of the battle of Passchendaele in Belgium.

    John Slough, from Peterchurch in the Golden Valley, has restored 13 guns from the era to take part in the salute.

    His grandfather was among those killed in the battle.

    Custody visitors go into cells to check those being held by police are being treated fairly.

    Last year they visited more than 2,500 people locked up in the West Midlands.

    Volunteers are needed particularly in the Coventry, Oldbury, Perry Barr and Wolverhampton areas.

    Many older people in Stoke-on-Trent are facing problems getting to GP appointments and waiting too long to be seen in hospital, a report has found.

    The Care Quality Commission report, found they are also being put at risk of harm and slipping through the net because the health and social care systems aren't working well enough together.

    Inspectors say there’s an urgent need for health professionals and others to work together properly to improve the situation for over-65s.

    Stoke-on-Trent was one of 20 local authorities selected for a review of health and social care system.

    A Staffordshire Police officer has been found guilty of misconduct for using racially offensive language. , external

    The force says it related to an incident at Hanley Police Station in February which was overheard by other members of staff.

    It says an independent panel has been hearing evidence about three officers.

    Two were told they had no case to answer, but the force says PC Andrew Goodwin has been issued with a final written warning.

    Controversial cuts in childrens services totalling almost £1.2m, external have been agreed by senior councillors at Warwickshire County Council.

    The authority`s cabinet has agreed plans to replace 39 children's centres with 14 "Children and Family" hubs, with outreach services in other locations.

    Earlier this year, concerns were raised by parents with young children that they would lose a "lifeline" under the plans.

    The council says it has to make savings but 'early years' services remains "absolutely critical" - the changes are set to come into effect from 1 October 2019.
