The New Saints striker Greg Draper says this season has been their toughest since he joined the club in 2011.
The club is chasing its seventh successive Welsh Premier League title and could climb back to the top of the table with a win away to Llandudno tonight, but haven't found it easy going after last season's record-breaking campaign.
Draper said a lot of clubs had improved this season, including Connah's Quay, Bangor City and Cardiff Met.
But he feels that's making the league more interesting for the fans.

A man has been charged with murder after the body of a woman was discovered at a house in Knightcote, near Southam in Warwickshire, external.
The body of the woman, thought to be 56, was found last night with facial injuries.
The 54-year-old man has also been charged with driving above the alcohol limit.
There's been another spill in Bewdley involving a bus.
Diamond Bus said this incident on Cordle Marsh Road, like the one which affected roads in Bewdley and Kidderminster on Tuesday, was caused by one of their vehicles going over a speed bump.
The Hereford and Worcester Fire Service said it was called out at 13:30 and a local resident, Jo Bloom, said she had a go at stemming the flow herself with ladies incontinence pads.
CCTV images have been released, external of a man police would like to speak to in connection with inappropriate behaviour reported by a 15-year-old boy.
The incident is believed to have happened on the number 60 bus as the teenager travelled from Digbeth High Street on 5 September.
West Midlands Police said the teenager was approached by a man, who then followed him as the teenager tried to get away.
He eventually managed to jump on to another bus, leaving the man behind.

A scheme to retrain social workers who've left the sector, and bring them back into the profession, is being launched in Coventry.
The Local Government Association's (LGA) Return to Social Work scheme will look to retrain experienced social workers for both adults and children.
The LGA said it's looking to recruit 100 former workers into "critical roles" for people who have left or taken a break from social work practice.
Council spending on social workers from agencies has doubled in the past four years, figures show.
Children in Need
All sorts of things are going on around the West Midlands for the BBC's Children in Need appeal today.
The pupils at Ellesmere Primary School in Shropshire are wearing spots and holding a cake sale.
And they're also preparing to greet parents with a large flash mob at the end of the day, with more than 360 children taking part.
They've been warming up in the playground.

Children in Need
Pudsey bear is all over the region today, taking part in fundraising for the BBC's Children in Need appeal.
Earlier he was at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
A woman charged with causing the death of a student by providing her with a potentially lethal slimming aid has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter.
Eloise Parry, 21, from Shrewsbury, took diet pills containing the drug DNP before she died in hospital in April 2015.
Mary Roberts, 32, from Southall in west London also pleaded not guilty to breaking an EU food safety convention by supplying the DNP drug and not guilty to a money laundering charge.
A co-defendant, 32-year-old Albert Huynh from Northolt in north-west London, was also charged with manslaughter and the food safety offence, but chose not to plead. An application to dismiss charges against him will be made on 18 December.
A third man, 30-year-old Bernard Rebelo from Beckton in east London, had pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter and food safety charges at a hearing on 17 October.
A trial is scheduled to start on 30 April 2018.
Plans to introduce tough new sanctions for rough sleepers in Stoke-on-Trent come almost a year after the closure of the BAC O'Connor rehabilitation centre in nearby Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The centre, which helped people struggling with alcohol and drug dependency, shut just before Christmas after Staffordshire County Council announced it would halve its budget for addiction treatments in the face of wider cuts.
The Public Space Protection Order proposed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and police is designed to cut down on anti-social behaviour, but some groups have called for more support for those sleeping rough in the city.
