    About 800 properties in the West Midlands continue to be without power following outages.

    Western Power says its engineers are working hard to restore power to those affected by mid-afternoon. Marston Green in Birmingham remains the worst affected, external with about 200 homes and businesses without power.

    A spokesman says anyone who has been affected should call 105 and report the issue.

    Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough has told a news conference he has had "no contact" from Nottingham Forest about their managerial vacancy.

    He said: "There's nothing to rule out at the moment. Football is far too unpredictable to rule anything in or out. I'm manager of Burton Albion."

    He added that he felt Mark Warburton had been "very unlucky" to be fired by Forest after only nine months in charge.

    A health watchdog in Staffordshire has called for a total review of the A&E unit at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, after a doctor apologised for "third world conditions" at the site.

    Dr Richard Fawcett, whose Twitter profile lists him as a consultant at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, made the statement on Twitter, external about the Royal Stoke's emergency unit.

    The hospital trust responded by saying it had been under "severe and sustained pressure over the Christmas period" and this had "continued into the new year".

    Today, the hospital says there are waiting times of more than four hours, external at the site and Healthwatch Staffordshire says they want a total review of how the A&E unit is run.

    A man suffered a suspected leg injury after a tree fell on him near Evesham this morning in the high winds caused by Storm Eleanor.

    West Mercia Police says officers had been called to the A46 Cheltenham Road, Ashton under Hill, external at about 02:00 to reports of a tree blocking the carriageway.

    While there, they say another tree came down on the man, hurting him and he was taken to hospital.

    Roof felt has been blown off a property in the Shard End area of Birmingham this morning, with debris landing in a car park below.

    Emergency services were called to Heathway at 0:30 and West Midlands Police said the area had been cordoned off, but that no-one was hurt.

    New figures, external have shown Worcestershire's A&E departments had some of the worst waiting times of any emergency unit in the Midlands over Christmas and new year.

    On New Year's Eve alone there were nearly 50 cases of patients having to wait for more than an hour to be transferred from ambulances.

    Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust says it was under "considerable pressure" during the festive season and it's encouraging patients to consider alternatives to A&E.

    A laser display has lit up the skies of Telford over the last two nights, to mark the start of the town's 50th anniversary year.

    Seven beams, each up to 10 miles (16km) long, were shone from locations around the area, converging on the Wrekin.

    Warwickshire Fire Service says it happened yesterday morning at Barnacle House Farm, Barnacle near Coventry.

    It says the machinery was used to break into the pile of wood chippings to make sure the blaze was completely out.

    More than 1,900 homes and businesses are without power across the West Midlands, according to Western Power Distribution

    The company says the worst affected areas include Solihull and Marton Green, with almost 900 without electricity.

    A further 400 properties in Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire are also without power.

    The area's two authorities are working together on the Local Plan because Newcastle-under-Lyme is struggling to build enough homes and the city is proposing that it can pick up the slack.

    If approved, the Local Plan will set out what can be built over the next decade in each area, and a public consultation would start in February.

    A restaurant has apologised after a four-year-old girl was mistakenly served an alcoholic cocktail.

    Mark Thomas, 33, ordered a "fruity softtail" from the children's menu for his daughter Evelyn at Frankie and Benny's in Burtonwood, Warrington.

    She was instead served an adult cocktail which contained vodka and peach schnapps.

    Evelyn was taken to hospital as she appeared "drunk" and even got a hangover, her father said.
