    Stoke City's new manager Paul Lambert says he'll hold conversations with the players they have out on loan about their futures at the club.

    Record signing Gianelli Imbula along with Bojan and Marc Muniesa are all currently playing elsewhere.

    Lambert told BBC Radio Stoke that his focus is firmly on Saturday's game with Huddersfield, before those talks take place.

    A minute's applause will be held at Coventry City's home game against Swindon in memory of Cyrille Regis who died on Monday.

    Players will also wear black armbands during Saturday's game, the match day programme will feature memories of the star and there'll be a tributes to the former striker on the big screen.

    Emergency and medical care provided by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust has improved.

    That's according to the latest Care Quality Commission report.

    Although the trust remains in special measures and is still rated inadequate overall, the Chief Executive, Michelle McKay says she's pleased they've started turning the hospital around in some key areas.

    Apprentices at Carillion's Birmingham Training Centre have been told not to come into work following the collapse of the company.

    The Wolverhampton-based firm went into liquidation, owing millions of pounds to creditors.

    Carillion had taken on a number of trainees at their centre in Tyburn, Birmingham, including 17-year-old Jay Smith who has been learning his trade as a bricklayer.

    Tributes continue to be paid to BBC WM's Ed Doolan. He passed away yesterday at the age of 76.

    Ed was a household name in the West Midlands, with his long-running consumer affairs programme and heavy-weight political interviews.

    A book of condolence will be opened at the Mailbox later for your tributes which will be passed onto Ed's family.

    BBC WM will be remembering Ed throughout the day speaking to some of the listeners he helped and some of the politicians he locked horns with.

    Shrewsbury Town were beaten 1-0 by West Ham in their third round FA Cup replay.

    The match at the London Stadium went to extra time and was eight minutes from a penalty shoot out when 21-year-old Reece Burke scored for the Hammers.

    Three thousand Shrews fans travelled to watch the game.

    Due to a fault with the signalling system at Droitwich Spa trains have to run at reduced speed on the Birmingham bound line, West Midlands Railway, external reports.

    A 19-year-old man has been stabbed in the chest and thigh in Birmingham.

    West Midlands Police said officers were called to reports of an attack on Cattell Road at the junction of Coventry Road, Small Heath, on Tuesday afternoon.

    His injuries - being treated in hospital - are not thought to be life-threatening. Cattell Road at the junction of Coventry Road has been closed until further notice.

  20. Blacksmith asked to create war memorialpublished at 18:53 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2018

    A blacksmith has been commissioned to produce a memorial to one of the most daring operations of the Second World War - Operation Deadstick.

    The mission saw specialist glider crews landing behind the enemy lines to seize and hold key bridges during the D-Day landings, to prevent German reinforcements from driving the Allies back into the sea.

    Bromley O'Hare, who's based near Pembridge in Herefordshire, will make the memorial out of stainless steel and it is due to be installed in the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

    He will be working with the Allied Special Forces Association to build the 5m (16 ft) high sculpture to remember those who took part in the Pegasus Bridge operation.
