    Two Birmingham mothers, whose sons were killed in knife attacks, have started a campaign to get pubs and clubs to keep equipment that could save the lives of stabbing victims

    Daniel Baird, 26, and Alexander Leonard, 22, were both stabbed.

    Bleed Kits are designed to help stop catastrophic bleeding. The campaign was launched by Daniel's mother, Lynne, and she has been joined in her campaign by Debbie Leonard.

    The first event to teach people how to use the kits has now taken place.

    A former Coventry teenager, who now goes to school in Florida, said he was locked inside a storage cupboard during the shooting at a high school on Wednesday.

    Lewis Mizen, 17, moved to the US three years ago and attends Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, where at least 17 people where shot and killed.

    Nikolas Cruz, 19, has appeared in court charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder.

    Lewis said it was a horrifying experience.

    Elderly people have been forced to move because of the lack of bus services, it has been revealed.

    New figures show the country's bus network has dropped to levels last seen in the 1980s, with rising car use and cuts to public funding blamed for a loss of 134 million miles of coverage over the past decade alone.

    Shropshire is third in a table of counties that have been worst affected by cuts, with villagers in Ditton Priors, who have not had a regular bus service since 2012, saying some elderly residents have been forced to move away because of it.

    Stoke-on-Trent has seen its bus service cut by 20%, with Warwickshire also among the worst-hit areas.

    More than 2,500 jobs could be created as part of a £600m expansion of a major business park.

    The i54 site is already home to Jaguar Land Rover's engine manufacturing centre.

    A consultation on the plans begins next month - and a planning application is expected to be submitted in the Spring.

  5. Barry Bennell: Police investigating more abuse claimspublished at 07:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    More claims of sexual abuse of boys by former Crewe Alexandra football coach Barry Bennell are being investigated.

    Bennell has been convicted of a total of 43 charges of abusing 11 boys aged eight to 15, following a five-week trial. He will be sentenced on Monday.

    It's understood a total of 98 people made allegations against him and Cheshire Police are investigating.

    And he said they appeared to be close to agreeing a deal, but there were still some details to be agreed.

    The number of public toilets in Nuneaton and Bedworth are going to be halved to save money.

    Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough councillors came to the decision after seven hours of debate last night.

    It means from April there'll be just two public toilets in the borough - one at the bus station in Nuneaton and another in the market in Bedworth.

    Two men have been praised for their bravery in rescuing a woman from a car just before it completely burst into flames. , external

    The crash, involving two cars, happened in November on Cheadle Road, Draycott-in-the-Moors.

    Staffordshire Fire Service says Adam Sharman and Edward Howard were both driving past and stopped, finding the woman had suffered serious leg injuries.

    The wounds were so severe that the service says she is still being treated for life-changing injuries.

    A disabled woman from Halesowen says she no longer goes into Birmingham city centre because it's too difficult to access.

    Beth Siviter relies on an electric wheelchair and her assistance dog to get around but told BBC WM that recent changes to the city have made life hard, she feels, for disabled people.

    Birmingham City Council says it engages with access groups and is open to opportunities to improve the city whilst it's undergoing regeneration.

    Network Rail says closing a busy level crossing in Shrewsbury will benefit train passengers and make the local community safer.

    It is planning to close the level crossing in Harlescott by 2024 and build a footbridge for pedestrians, with traffic having to take alternative routes.

    A spokesperson said the crossing in Harlescott is not in the core submission of its strategic business plan, but it will look to close it if it can secure the necessary funding.

    A fire in a cannabis factory in Coventry turned out to be "complex and sophisticated", the fire service says. , external

    They arrived on Walsgrave Road after 21:00 last night and say they were hampered putting it out because of ducting and electrical bypasses, put in place to support the illegal activity.

    West Midlands Fire Service says it took five fire engines in the end to put it out and the police are getting rid of the plants and factory equipment.
