We found the interior of the property in an untidy state − which could indicate it had been searched − and we believe some jewellery items are missing. We are working with the family to understand exactly what items may have been taken. However, the motive is unclear; we are keeping an open mind and examining several lines of enquiry.

In the most important, iconic building in the country [Parliament], where we have trade deals being done, when you turn your plate over, chances are the crockery isn't from the UK. There's been overwhelming support for this, so now it's about the next steps and we see a 'buy British' component. There's nothing better than turning a plate over and seeing it was from our city.
