    A former waitress, who denies murdering a chef she stabbed in the heart, texted a friend saying she was going to "lure him to her flat" and "beat the life out of him", a court has heard.

    Georgina Henshaw has admitted stabbing 65-year-old Philip Rolf outside her flat at Alder Drive, Chelmsley Wood, Solihull, in July last year, but denies murder.

    The jury at Birmingham Crown Court was told how, in the weeks leading up to his death, Mr Rolph had given Ms Henshaw money and regularly brought her alcohol and cigarettes.

    The 38-year-old was found unconscious by family members on Rookery Road in Penn. She had been assaulted, police said.

    Further tests are being carried out after a post-mortem examination was inconclusive, police said.

    Det Ch Insp Chris Mallett said he was keeping an "open mind" about motives for the "shocking case".

    "We are investigating several lines of enquiry including whether this was a random burglary or if the address or Mrs Kaur were deliberately targeted.

    "The interior was in an untidy state − which could indicate it had been searched − and we believe that some items are missing," he said.

    Former football coach Barry Bennell has been jailed for 30 years.

    A six-week trial held at Liverpool Crown Court led to Bennell being convicted of 43 counts of historical child sex offences over three decades.

    In the judge's summing up he said Bennell, a former coach at Manchester City and Crewe Alexandra was "pure evil".

    Judge Clement Goldstone QC said: "For those boys you appeared as a god. In reality you were the devil incarnate. You stole their childhoods and their innocence."

    A further delay to the opening of Kenilworth's new railway station is becoming an "embarrassment to the rail industry," says a local rail campaigner.

    If the service, which was due to open in February, is subject to further delays there should be "questions in the House of Commons," said Fraser Pithie.

    The Department for Transport blames Warwickshire County Council for delays, saying "the council and its contractors appear to have failed to meet a revised delivery date to get the station ready for service".

    The council says it's "working with partners to complete work" at the station and wouldn't be issuing a date for the station's opening.

    Meat supplier Russell Hume - which supplied pub chain JD Wetherspoon, schools and care homes - has gone into administration.

    The company is headquartered in Derby and was operating from six production sites in: Liverpool, Birmingham, London, Boroughbridge, Exeter and Fife.

    It supplied meat to hotels, restaurants and pubs across the UK, employed more than 300 people, and was being investigated over food hygiene concerns.

    KPMG Restructuring has been appointed as administrators and said recent product recall and a halt in operations "had caused significant customer attrition and trading difficulties, which in turn has led the directors to take the decision to place the company into administration".

    Some 266 people have been made redundant, it added.

    KPMG said: "Our priority over the coming days will be to work with all affected employees ... We will also be seeking buyers for the business and its assets."

    Police who arrested a woman over a row about a parked ambulance said they were alerted to the issue by details shared on Twitter.

    Staffordshire Police said a 26-year-old woman from the Tunstall area of Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of public order offences after the incident on Sunday - amid claims of verbal abuse.

    Cambridge University says it's "actively considering" stripping Matthew Falder of his academic qualifications.

    They don't know whether that's ever happened before in its 800-year history.

    Falder, thought to be one of Britain's most prolific sex offenders and jailed today for 32 years, left Cambridge with a Masters and a PhD.

    The geophysicist was a postdoctoral researcher at Birmingham University and admitted nearly 140 charges at a court hearing in October.

    The National Crime Agency has thanked victims of Matthew Falder who came forward to make possible the case against the paedophile.

    He was caught thanks to the culmination of work by agents which first began in the United States in 2013, as the FBI worked to expose users of dark web paedophilia sites.

    Specialists built their own websites on the servers which hosted the offending sites to track what was being said and done on them.

    In doing so, they were able to access the so-called hurtcore communities who are defined by their sharing of images of rape, murder, sadism, torture, paedophilia, blackmail and humiliation.

    'Hurt 2 The Core', described by the NCA as "the world's worst website", was one such site.

    A key feature of the Matthew Falder case has been the extent of his crimes - scope that meant some of his investigators had never seen a worse offender of his type.

    One of the officers involved in hunting Falder down, Will Kerr, of the NCA, said in all his 28 years of policing he had never encountered a more "dangerous individual".

    Supervising senior investigations officer Scott Crabb, of Homeland Security in the US, described him as a "monster" and "pure evil". He said: "Falder is absolutely the worst child exploitation and blackmail offender I have ever seen."
