A narrowboat owner says he's currently living at 30 degrees after a canal embankment collapsed in Cheshire, draining the water.
A massive hole appeared at the edge of the Shropshire Union in Middlewich at the end of last week causing a stretch of the canal to empty.
Up to 20 boats are believed to have been left stranded after the collapse, including that of Richard Kill, who was visiting the area.
Quote MessageI was laying in bed when I noticed the boat was starting to lean over. We found a huge hole in the embankment about half a mile away. Within half an hour it had drained 3/4 mile of canal leaving half a dozen boats leaning and at some alarming angles. The boat is still on the pound until the Canals and River Trust puts in a temporary dam to pump water from the Trent and Mersey canal so we can float and get through the lock and be on our way."
