    Glass is being embedded in a hill popular with visitors in an apparent bid to target cyclists, police say.

    The glass has been found partially buried in paths on Grinshill, in Shropshire, and officers say it is a danger to dogs, horses and runners, as well as mountain bikers.

    Kiko Matthews said she had celebrated her record-breaking row across the Atlantic with a large mojito.

    The 36-year-old, from Herefordshire, said she had been "dreaming" of a cocktail for much of the 49-day journey, but would be saving other celebrations until she returns from Barbados to the UK.

    A toy warehouse in Newcastle-under-Lyme has been damaged in a fire this morning.

    It broke out in a lift at the Smyths Toys depot on Ore Close shortly before 08:00.

    Crews were on the scene for more than two hours, but no one is believed to have been injured, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

    A teenager who showed warning signs to authorities that he could carry out a terrorist attack is due to be sentenced today after being found guilty of 2017's Parsons Green Tube bombing.

    She told the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme in the case of Ahmed Hassan "intervention didn't happen", despite concerns about him being raised by an immigration official and teacher.

    "The point is around trust and transparency," she said.

    "How do we make sure our communities are part of the solution?"

    Two men continue to be questioned on suspicion of terrorism offences.

    The 21-year-olds, from Birmingham and Leicester, were arrested from their home addresses on suspicion of preparing for terrorist acts, West Midlands Police said.

    They remain in custody at a police station in the West Midlands.

    The arrests were intelligence-led, police said, and there is no immediate threat to the public.

    Record-breaking rower Kiko Matthews said she was inspired to take on the Atlantic crossing as a challenge after having a a second brain tumour removed only eight months ago.

    The 36-year-old, originally from Herefordshire, has become the fastest woman to cross the ocean solo in a time of 49 days 8 hours and 13 minutes.

    "I like a challenge - I like to push myself and see what I can do," she said.

    Two lorry drivers are due to be sentenced today for causing a pile-up that killed eight people in a minibus.

    David Wagstaff, 54, from Stoke-on-Trent, admitted eight counts of causing death by careless driving and four counts of careless driving, but was cleared of more serious charges of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.

    Ryszard Masierak, from Evesham, Worcestershire, was found guilty of eight counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

    They are both set to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court later.
