    Disruption caused by the landslip between Rugby and Milton Keynes Central is expected to last until 16:00.

    Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or diverted via Northampton, the National Rail website reports.

    Replacement buses are running between Northampton and Rugby, calling at Long Buckby.

    Services between Birmingham New Street / Crewe and London Euston are affected.

    A teenage boy accused of the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl in Wolverhampton has been remanded in custody until June.

    The body of of Viktorija Sokolova was found in West Park last Thursday.

    The accused, a 16-year-old, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier and spoke only to confirm his identity and personal details during the proceedings.

    Warwickshire captain Jeetan Patel says there are "really good signs" for his side despite their opening County Championship match ending in a draw.

    The Bears were relegated to Division Two last year and started their campaign against Sussex.

    After a first innings of 299, Warwickshire bowled out the visitors for 374 and were then hanging on slightly on the final day at 87-3 in a match heavily affected by rain.

    The star for them was Olly Stone who bowled career-best figures of 8-80 on his home Championship debut.

    An inquiry into child sexual exploitation in Telford is about building confidence, not how much it will cost, a councillor's said.

    Telford and Wrekin Council has outlined how it plans to conduct its own inquiry and has committed at least £350,000 to fund it.

    It came after a Sunday Mirror article , externalclaimed 1,000 children may have been abused in the town since the 1980s..

    Councillor Lee Carter's overseeing the setting up of the inquiry for the authority and says it's "very difficult to estimate the costs".

    The teenager was discovered in a property on Brookside Road, Straford-upon-Avon on 4 December.

    An 18-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested yesterday, said Warwickshire Police.

    A man previously charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm is due to stand trial for the offences in June 2018.

    The head of operations for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games has been appointed project director for the 2022 event in Birmingham.

    Neil Carney has a "wealth of experience" working on major international events including the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, the city council said.

    The role, which sits within the City Council as opposed to the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, will oversee and co-ordinate city council operations.

    A man who stabbed a man who came to his front doorstep, external and left him bleeding there has been jailed for 10-and-a-half-years.

    Jay Maughan, 37, of Hollins Road, Oldham, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and was sentenced at Chester Crown Court after the attack in Crewe.

    Police say Maughan and his 32-year-old victim were known to each other and had exchanged "heated" text messages on the day of the assault in October.

    They say his victim then came round to Maughan's house and they started fighting, during which Maughan stabbed the other man with a kitchen knife and ran off.

    A cat which may have been thrown from a building is "extremely lucky" to be alive.

    The animal, suffering a broken jaw, was rescued from the outside a Birmingham block of flats after local authority CCTV controllers reported they'd seen her fall from approximately 100ft (30m).

    "They thought they had seen a person throw the cat but the footage was not clear enough to be sure", the RSPCA said.

    An investigation has been launched after the incident in Guild Close.
